Playa Santa Teresa is the most beautiful beach I've ever visited! The sand and surf are great, and better still is the quiet and calm. No one is running up and down the beach trying to sell things to tourist and everyone is just having a great time relaxing or surfing. A+ Beach.
perfect, and the sand was nice no rocks and if your a surfer get there the waves are great the water is warm
Surf can be choppy at times but in general great place to visit and stay for a week. Great local food to choose from, rent atvs, see monkeys, hike and more.
Great beach for sunsets and Surfing. Food is great. The people are nice. Not the loudest strip, so if thats what you're into you may want a more party beach. There are a few nice nights for partying every so often though.
We travelled from Golfito (south) until Nosara during 15days, and Santa Teresa was by far the best place we visited.Really loved the laid out, relaxed atmosphere!Don't miss out on The Bakery!!
Highly recommend doing an all inclusive week with Pura Vida Adventures surf camp and yoga retreat in Playa Santa Teresa. They operate out of the Tropico Latino Hotel which is beachfront so you can walk right out in front to surf both beginner and advanced waves, plus you'll love the comfy and cute bungalows which are situated in a very tranquil - and oh-so zen- resort setting.
We stayed very close to one of the entrances to the beach. Santa Teresa itself doesn't have a real "town centre" but rather a long strip of road with various places to stay and dine. The beach is incredible. One of the nicest in Costa Rica with amazing surf. You can walk for miles along the beach and get such an incredible view.Don't miss heading down there for sunset. Absolutely amazing!
Santa Teres is a comunity with endless sandy beaches, rocky pinnacle everyonce in a while, lots of tropical vegetation and this beautiful blue Pacific Ocean. Great surfing too. Everybody surfs.
The surf out front of cuesto arriba* was really good. In February, the waves are great before 11am. Hot air during the dry season makes side/onshore winds in effect by 12pm usually. Mid to high is the best tide though it's flexible and can be weird. I recommend waking up at 5:30am and squeezing 2 sessions in before 11am, then maybe hitting up mal pais for an evening sesh. Just out front of their surf camp is good. Both mal pais and Santa Teresa can go off in February with 6-10 foot+ sets and also can be fun 2-5ft surf. It can PUMPING surf so you better be in shape and have your duck dive in check. Some sets just never end so there's plenty of surf for everyone just need to have the endurance. Banana beach is a little bit smaller and centrally located. Super markets are reasonably priced. Cheaper than most places in cost rica. My hostel was $16/night for dorm.
Beautiful and long beach with a lot of different beach breaks for different level surfers, no infrasctruture available and very roots environment
My favorite place in Costa Rica by far. Totally cute jungle beach town with gorgeous coastline, little boutique hotels and shops , feels rustic and authentic getaway . Artsy, diverse , surfer vibe , miles of gorgeous beach and waves. Definitely worth it , if you want to go off the beaten path .... Good place to relax and unwind amped enjoy the scenic beauty.
