It is beautiful but you might like Turtle beach even more...just keep walking to the end of starfish...continue through the restaurant property and turn left on the dirt road and you will see gates "bamboo......?" on your left and you are there...! They even have some chairs for rent and drinks for purchase - enjoy!

Resort is one of the best in the Caribbean. Loved the zipline, hiking and snorkeling. Nice restaurant on the beach. Rent a golf cart, you will thank me.

This place was an absolute paradise. Palm trees, white sand and clear blue water. You couldn't ask for anything more. The sand was soft and white and went out hundred yards. Unlike other beaches that have broken shells that you are stepping on this was just sand the whole way. We really enjoyed our time here except for the biting flies. We could not seem to do anything to keep them off us other than going in the water. We tried multiple beaches on the island and all had the same problem. Maybe it was just the time of year. Either way we would gladly come back to this beach in a heartbeat.

Red Frog beach is a surfers dream with beautiful wavy blue water. "Swim at your own risk" is a common phrase use in Bocas del Toro. You can get to Red Frog beach by water taxi usually $7 round trip with the Red Frog Connection ran by Jampan Tours from Bocas Town. The boat runs on a schedule so inquire with your boat company about times for going and returning from Red Frog. Jampan tours has departures from Bocas Town: 9am; 12pm; 1pm; 2pm; 5pm; and departures from Red Frog: 9:30am; 12:30pm; 1:30pm; 2:30 pm; 4pm; 5:30pm. The boat only takes you a pier on the calm side of the island and you will have an additional 20-30 min walk depending on what kind of shape you are in. Sometimes one of the golf cart owners will be nice enough to pick you up and take you the beach while you are walking on the dirt road. Once you are there you will hear the waves crashing ashore and see life after walking on what seemed to be a deserted island. You can spend a few hours walking the beach, watching the surfers, and having lunch and cocktails at the restaurant on site. I only stayed about 3 hours and then returned to Bocas Town. Just a 30 minute boat plus 30 minute walk equals Red Frog Beach. Happy Travels!!!!

Liked the beautiful nature and disliked some of the flying insects ....although grasshoppers were really nice. Awesome place to live or to retire

It is a beautiful beach with gorgeous jungle. I had a great time here. But I couldn't help but be concerned about riptides I'd read about. It was good that there were actually life guards, unusual where we've traveled. But they only made me feel more nervous because I have serious doubt that the beach is safe. Of course, New York City beaches have rips, too, and everyone swims in them. So, I don't know whether I was just overreacting to all I've read.

We loved our visit to this beach & thought it was definitely worth the journey over from Bocas Town & the $3 entrance fee. Others have commented about it being overcrowded, but we were here at the beginning of February & didn't find that to be the case when we visited - so I guess it's hit & miss.

If you are looking for a party beach, you have found a hopping one. But if you are looking for a beautiful place to hang out and enjoy the sun and surf - you'll keep walking to some of the equally nice, but less crowded beaches further down the coast.

Just reading through the previous reviews I hope someone did not die but I would like to clarify some facts. Yes you have to pay 3$ to enter but you also do have lifeguards who were constantly using their whistle if people were going near rip currents. Yes the beach has big waves but it also is very shallow and I could touch my feet on the ground at all times. They have signs and flags warning about the rip currents and explains what to do if you get caught in one.The beach itself is rustic but nice and has a few options to eat. We really liked it here and would not hesitate to go back.

Going to this beach is not worth risking your life or the life of others. 3 people in the first 6 days of 2015 died on this beach. Do not go here!

Did not enjoy any time at Red Frog Beach. You have to pay to get on the beach and then there is no safety. No life guards on beach. Young Canadian lost his life, being the 3rd within the first 6 days of 2015. Avoid this beach completely.

By water taxi you pay $10.00 return and he was great, was there to pick us up right on time. It is $3.00 to enter the park, you walk about 10 minutes and you are at the beach. Unfortunately to see Red Frogs you should go when it is raining. We waited out several torrential downpours and went on a sunny day, so no red frogs for us.

TrueNorth70

Beautiful, secluded, and pristine. Can get very wavy at times, so take caution as there are no life guards

Man lost his life. He was innocently swimming as there are no warnings of hazardous water. Got caught in waves maybe a riptide and ended up drowning. 3 deaths and 30 rescues the first 6 days in 2015. Be careful. Don't go in the water.

QuePasaCalabaza

White sands, great taco stand, nice bar, not too crowded, fun waves. What's not to like? This beach is amazing. Highly recommend.
