The Memorial has a replica of INS KUKRI, the Indian Naval Vessel that sank off the coast of Diu during the 1971 Indo- Pak War. There is also a short write up giving details of the brave crew that went down with the ship. Sunsets are gorgeous out here.
Not much to see around at this memorial. It is just one of the places listed to see in Diu.However, can checkout the beach nearby. Nice to seat back for a while. Not clean enough to bathe in.
It was definitely not worth a visit and quite disappointing. Fortunately it was very close to the other places of interest and so one does not have to go out of his way to visit this place
A must see place. The sacrifices the 17 officers and more than 140 crew who died to defend our country can not be forgotten. Pay your homage here, Be proud of them, be proud to be an Indian.
Sunset view. Can spend time for hours and watching sun going down under see.....Chairs are put facing the sunset, gives a good view...Still the memorial area is not properly maintained.
Watch the sunset or the sunrise , with a cup of tea available in the nearest vendor shop and have long chat.. Well maintained ... the chairs are put facing the sea ... The best thing is the migratory birds fly at around evening making the place more serene...
Its a war memorial, commemorating the heroism of naval officers who laid down their lives when a ship sank. Despite a good construction structure, at an elevation with so many steps, the place looks neglected. There is a need to devise and show interesting program around the story of these naval officers. However, it is worth a visit.
It is showed on a hillock and you have to climb stairs to reach their. This marine was attacked by Pakistani army. All the people on board were killed or taken hostage of. It gives a feeling of our war heroes who have laid their lives for our peace and good living.
Audi-visual resurrection of this National Glory needs to be enshrined as testimony to the selfless devotion to service our Navy displayed.
In the memory of martyrs of INS Khukhrey, beautiful spot with a nice Amphitheater. Good if you want to relax in December weather.
Nice monument with replica of INS Khukery... Lovely views...a nice little beach to have fun... You can pick cycles and cycle your way there the roads are lovely n scenic
not much to see here; the little bay and beach look nice with noone around... much unlike the rowdy nagoa with its parasailing and speed boat rides
A scaled model of INS Khukrey stands as a mark of respect to all sailors who went down along with the ship. The site lists the names of all the martyred soldiers. Its a quiet, solemn place which also offers a good point for viewing the setting sun.
This is a war memorial, Located in one of the best locations of Diu. As much as you are enthralled by the story of the brave sailors of the Indian Navy, you cant help but be amazed by the view of the ocean and the beautiful beach that you get.One of the best open air amphitheaters that i have seen in my life, even without any show happening, the backdrop is enough to take your breath away.Worth a Visit!
