This is a heritage building of India. It has so much rich history about it. It certainly has a feel to it as it keeps you captivated.
The system in CST is methodical. Earlier known as VT (Victoria Terminus) this is a landmark of its own. More interesting are the food joints just across. It has a huge variety of eatables- quick snacking - probably anything good you may think of. Grilled sandwiches of different types tasting just outstanding. It is a must to visit if you are around and enjoy eating. Dosas, Idly, Vada pao, bhajji pao, chaach, lassi, mailk badam, etc are available hunger killers work like magic. In CST every 2 minutes trains are running across the central railway line - local and long distant.
Return was from here only. Neat and Clean, easily can be approached. Had 24 hours taxi services . Will see you again there as a very good location
we where at CST on the even of the India Republic Day and this building was decked up like a bride. truly majestic imposing structure of the British Era and well maintained till date. It give a great photo opportunity
biggest station of Mumbai, trains for all locations are available, very nice exterior heritage type facade of station
Nothing I had read and nothing I had seen on TV could prepare me for how busy this terminus was! It wasn't even rush hour when we visited apparently! We approached from the other side of the road via a subway, the subway was like a world of its own with various stalls and very one clamouring for either business or to make the terminus for a train. The heat and humidity was almost unbearable!Being Mumbai there is a lot of noise at street level anyway, the constant beep of horns and the revving of vehicles but I was shocked at the level of noise in the terminus....fellow travellers trying to talk over each other, the sound of machinery and the ever present and loud tannoy system...a true cacophony of sound. Oddly I felt for a railway station this one actually had a lot of atmosphere, a clash of old meets new in wonderful style. There is no denying this building is simply glorious to look at, both from outside and within. It is what I would call breathtaking. The building certainly assaults all your senses in very positive ways. Our visit here was far too brief and it would be so easy to spend quite some time here just soaking up the atmosphere and admiring this grand old building. Most definitely worth a visit and I cannot recommend it highly enough to fellow travellers
This is an Old Railway Station on Heritage site of Unesco. This is also Head Quarter of Central Railway. thus Bombay has two head quarter, other of Western Railway. We all have seen Kasab,Pakistani millitant making open fire on this Rly Station in 2008.
New International Terminal is surely state of the art , very nice , easy check in comparing to old terminal. What spoils is NO trolley park for trolleys at check in , staff does not where to park or may be there is no parking space for trollies
One of my favourite railway stations in India. Located in South Mumbai, it has an elegant look from outside. The architecture is really amazing and the building is purely a work of Art. The inside is crowded like all major stations are in India but you will have a great feel of the station because of its ambience.I have visited many times but never tired of its beauty. A must visit for anyone in this planet!
Chhatrapati terminus is very huge and vast, its appearance is very great, taxi cabs easily available in budget. Food is also available, books stalls also available, what I didn't like was the unhygienic toilets. This is very big down for Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
