Once I saw this pool I knew I'd be swimming for hours. The length of the pool is perfect. As an avid swimmer, laps in this pool were awesome! The water is so clear too.
This place is so cool, you can get a foot spa with the fish doing the work! :-) Well maintained and the entrance fee is so affordable.
The opposite of the Ardent hot spring. Yet people can choose where to go. More preference to this cooler feel of the spring. And could be another time the other spring might be explored. This is the beauty of the island province of Camiguin. I still like to come back to this awesome island.
Sto Niño cold spring has a wide pool and a very clean surroundings. You can have a foot massage with the tiny fishes, most part of the pool is deep, If you don't know how to swim floaters are available for only Php 20.00. Fresh Coconut are served only for Php 20 and also the foods that you're going to order outside is yummy and affordable. This is the best place to have lunch under the scourging Sun :)
It is like a normal public resort, except that pools is not made of tiles. The water is really cold and refreshing. The only problem we had was it was peak season when we visited so it was crowded, and difficult to get a picnic table/hut. Our picnic table was just placed under a tree (and the fee was still the same!). Food can be ordered outside or inside the resort (paluto).
The cold springs has a humungous swimming and wading area which are kept clean especially with a garden like atmosphere. The source are natural springs from an underground river, the locals say. Very friendly and amiable caretakers and personnel.
It's a clean place with a big swimming pool. If you're lazy to swim u can just sit and let the tiny fishes nibble your dead skin ( a la foot spa). Water is very cold..so be prepared for that. Entrance is 30 while a cottage cost only 75 Pesos. We made a mistake of ordering food outside the facility - the "escabeche" really tasted bad coz she used old smelly oil & the native chicken tinola was too watery. There's a resto inside (Pops Diner) which is cheaper & serves better food. Don't forget to buy buko (coconut).
Managed to get there, but over crowded, over developed and just disappointing, hopped straight back in the minicab.
When we arrived at the Cold Spring we were hounded by several women with menus who wouldn't stop until we've ordered food. So we did order lunch before getting in the water, which was unbelievably cold! We were shivering in the water already! The lunch was delicious and worth the price. The highlight is definitely the cold water though!
Went there for lunch and we were ambushed by women with menus before going out of our vehicle. They were trying to outsell the other ladies. It was total chaos and confusing. We were not ready for it so we just ordered stuff fast. We were disappointed with their chicken dishes that they prided so much. We did however enjoy the free fish spa and cold water massage through their small water ways.
If you like to go for a cold cold swim without chlorine then this is it. Pure water fresh from the ground will make you want to drink while swimming.
We all know the feeling of putting once hands inside an ice bucket. Well, imagine that same shivering feeling but this time, it's your whole body that you are dipping! Here's the good (or bad) news, if you're swimming in the Sto Nino Cold Spring, you wouldn't be needing any of your imagination! You'll be singing "Frozen" all of a sudden. In fact, if your a typical warm-blooded Filipino, you can't help but scream expletives on your first try.The water is so cold that outside the developed area, coconuts are placed in the water to cool the juice inside. We also noted cases of beer dunked in the water to cool. :D But think the water's temperature also depends upon what season you went there. Entrance fee is for 30 pesos.
We had the place to ourselves because it was already past 5pm when we arrived. They built cottages around the pool. It was quiet and clean and peaceful and of course COLD! Outside the pool resort, there are people you can ask to cook food for you (for a fee, of course).
No crowds, but a bit off the common track, takes a while to get there. Buy a couple of bukos a the entrance and enjoy the water.
Sto. Nino spring is at the foot of the mountain. It's really cold thus, the name suggests. The pool has division for the adults and kids. Swimmers used inflated tire interiors for their floaters. There are huts for rents around the pool and they can grill and eat there. One observation that really awed me from the time I arrived. They're swimming with the fishes. I think others didn't realizethat or they haven't seen the fishes swimming with them "cause most are fingerlings and small enough to be seen. I visited the place on a rainy day but still people were all over the place. It's quite deep. I'm 5'4" but I can't touch the pool floor. It might be, there's a large volume of water at the pool during my visit.
