First off, Aliwagwag Falls is several hours from Davao City, so I would plan on at least a couple of days for a visit. The falls are impressive, and beautiful, definitely worth the trip in my opinion. Improvements are still being made, although the entire entrance area and lower decks are completed. There are nice new stairs, bridges, and paths, and a shower area that is nearly finished. The stairs are still under construction, but are completed pretty far up the falls. Aliwagwag Falls however is not very handicap accessible. There are ramps from the parking area up to the large lower deck and viewing area, but to access the rest of the falls you have to cross a suspension bridge that probably isn't even wide enough for a wheelchair. Everything beyond the bridge moves uphill via stairs or steps. Most of the stairs have good handrails, but the steps do not. There's a nice new pavilion next to a large pool that forms off from the falls, which makes for a good swimming spot. There was no entrance fee when I visited, but while it is not yet open, the nice new entrance booth is completed, so I'm sure that it won't be free much longer.

I recommend visitors to bring good hiking shoes, you need to have good time. Aliwagwag falls is under improvements, it is important for tourists and for the local invironment, showering hall, restaurant, accommodations. you must not forget to bring your towel, surely that you will be tempted to take a quick plunge. Food, beverage you get buy in the area. if you have plan to take a cozy together with friends and family, better to ask if it is allowed to bring food or if you intend to grill fish or meat some place, it is quite long foot walk about 5-7 km. close environment is concerned that there is no litter everywhere. I am even born and grown up in aliwagwag. I've ripped Aliwagwag in 1975

I've been to this place for several times and I'm still in awe every time to I go there of how beautiful this place is. It's a good place for family outing or with your friends. You can bring ready to eat food or grill fish and meat on the area when you get their. Then spend the rest of your time swimming and climbing the stair-like water falls of Aliwagwag. I highly recommend this place to visit especially if you are visiting the town of Cateel, Davao Oriental, it is just and hour or less from the town proper.
