Beach is quite nice but as you enter the water within ten feet you will meet some rocks and some not so smooth
there was litter all over walked on it once but did not need to go on it again glass bottles and broken loungers shame because if looked after could be great
busy little place not what you think walking from our hotel worth a wonder safe and nice to meet locals.
The beach was really worth a walking or guagua trip from Bayahibe. Clear water, not too many people, restaurants and cafes close. One of the best public beaches we visited in D.R.
Stretches to the border of Dreams La Romana hotel where there is a security guard to the town entrance. The beach is a little dirty with rubbish but near the shoreline is cleaner, the sand is very firm, light and fine ideal for a sun baked mud bath. The beach isn't very long but there are plenty of trees for shade and lots of vendors and food outlets. A short walk will take you into town where there are endless vendors.
Really like Bayahibe but be warned we went to a small beach front bar for a rum and coke and were charged 10 us dollars a rip off, found a lovely little bar in the centre at 6 dollars plus free nibbles
While it is a bit hard to find without a good map/GPS, it's well worth it. Nestled between two all inclusive resorts (Iberostar and Viva Wyndham) its a slice of free (if you don't want to pay for chairs and an umbrella - 500 dp), beautiful heaven. You can walk up and down the beach, even all the way down the Iberostar property past the lighthouse (there are guards but they don't seem to care too much). Not as many people as Bayahibe.
Nice Beach where you get to see how the locals use Theis Beach and enjoy themselves. A little sad that there are a lot of trash on the beach
One of the best beaches in the DR. small ripples fine whites sands and warm Caribbean sea. yes there are some vendors but you get that everywhere except on my hotel beach
The beach area in front of the resort was very nice. There were no rocks and the ocean was very warm. Nice sandy beach!
but very busy, Lots of vendors. There is allot of people at the beach so expect to have no quiet time.
Everything about the beach and water was exceptional. Water was calm. Beaches were clean, great tFor long walks, great for running, great for tanning
This beach is not in located in Bayahibe proper (where the web cam is and excursions leave from) but it is a cocho or cab ride away. The public beach is between the Viva Wyndam and the Iberostar Hotel. The public beach is small, but nice. You can walk the entire beach including the Iberostar portion. There is a nice pier with a deck you can access although it belongs to the hotel. There are umbrella and chair vendors should you want to rent. There are plenty of Hatian vendor shacks. The beach restaurant has staff working the beach to bring you icy cold El Presidente. There was no other place to mention this, but we found it important. ALL of the restaurants in this are are Italian. Most of the tourists were Italian, so that must be why. We found that a bit disconcerting as we wanted Dominican food. There is a very cute panaderia and another restaurant call La Cueva that we enjoyed-the tiramasu there was divine. The area is very walkable, but other than shops and Italian restaurants, there is not a lot to do.There are a couple of conveniece stores in this area but you have to go to LaRomana (45 minutes away) for a grocery store.Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our stay. It was just a bit more remote than we expected
The public beach at Dominicus in between 2 large resorts is small but very comfortable. There is a beach restaurant with good seafood & ice cold beers. There are also more shops on the beach to buy trinkets & art. You rent a beach chair in the shade are order food & drinks from the restaurant. The water is very calm with small waves, safe for children to swim in. You can rent gear for water sports as well as arrange boat outings to the nearby islands & national park.
clean. got to hear salsa and bachata. locals left you alone unless you spoke to them. vendors tend to be super aggressive.
