I've been to Anguilla a few times and have been hankering to get out to Scilly Cay, this time I did it!!! A truly lovely experience, from Alexander coming to get you in the boat after you wave him down......to charmingly crotchety Exudoixe chastising me for being a Giants fan then handing me a very potent cup of rumpunch and telling me to go sit down. The food was plentiful and delish!!!! Not to mention a great presentation. Scilly Cay is a must do........if you're already making your way to Anguilla you already know getting there is a slight production.........so push yourself a little more........make your way to Island Harbor........wave down the boat........spend the afternoon there and shoot the breeze with Gorgeous Exudoixe.......its worth it!!!!!!!!

This place is so good I would plan a trip back to Anguilla just for lunch here. The entire experience was perfection. They are only open 1 or two days a week for lunch, so be sure to check before heading over. First off, you start by parking next to the dock and hailing the boat. A local boy will ferry you back and forth from the pier to Scilly Cay, a small island. Its a quick ride, but try to have tip $. Its always a good sign when the fishermen are using the same pier for their lobster pots! The island has palapas (palm frond umbrellas) and simple plastic chairs and tables. Rustic but what more do you need? The private beach is lovely. Bring your suit and towels, plan to spend an hour or so frolicking in the surf after lunch, cocktail in hand, getting your money's worth. The owner is larger than life and happy to give you the island's (and his) history. There is no written menu, but with only 3 choices its easy. Lobster, crawfish or chicken. We both ordered the crawfish, which later research turned out to be spiny lobster. Whatever it was you get 4 of them, and they are each about equal to a 6 ounce lobster tail. Not what Americans consider crawfish at all. They were grilled and served with pasta salad and fresh fruit. Simply amazing. It was the best meal I have ever had in my 39 years and 22 countries. This was the freshest seafood I have ever had. Simply prepared, enjoyed outside with a cold beer, sun and surf. Its definitely not cheap, lunch for 2 with a few rounds of cocktails and tip ran us $200. But 4 big spiny lobsters! Each! We also took advantage of the beach, spent the afternoon and considered it money well spent. And I am cheap. But this was so worth it I would do it again. Can't recommend this place enough. Give yourself 2-4 hours to really experience it.

If you take a few minutes to enjoy the variety of reviews for this place, you get the definite feeling there is something unusual going on here. On the one hand the owner is eccentric (foul-mouthed, inappropriate and uninhibited....or just sarcastic and funny ....take your choice) and the prices are high (also not always provided to the semi-captive audience upon arrival). On the other hand, the island is charming and an afternoon visit can be relaxing. We found the food to be plentiful and quite good, although others nearby had issues with mixed-up/delayed orders and were less enthusiastic about the meal. We were there on a Wednesday, so no music, which would add a definite extra touch to the experience. Since the island is quite small, people tend to mingle. We had some interesting conversations, and later ran into several of the folks we met at Scilly Cay. At the end of the afternoon we decided this place is worth a "conditional recommendation", provided you are a bit adventuresome and can handle a bit of wackiness.

Everything is overpriced. Food and drinks. A lobster dinner is not worth $80 Very nice setting but a ripoff

The experience of catching a boat out to Scilly Cay from the dock in Island Harbour is fun, and spending time on the little island in the harbour is a good way to lime away the afternoon. There are a few things to be wary of though.....1) The rum punches are the strongest in Anguilla (maybe anywhere), and you can't tell this by taste. Be careful, or it will be too late when you realize it.2) By comparison to most other places in Anguilla, the staff here is not all that friendly, and the owner can seem downright grumpy. Captive audience or not, there is no excuse for that in a service business.3) The food is very good, the portions are huge, and the sides are good and plentiful (bread, pasta salad, fruit) but the prices are absurd. When we were there these were the prices for the grilled lunches... $75 for the lobster, $60 for the snapper, $50 for the chicken. They should tell people the prices in advance, as well as letting people know that the meals are large enough for many people to split. To be fair, there is live music and the boat ride back and forth doesn't cost visitors anything directly, but guests are clearly paying for these things with the high food prices.Overall, worth the experience, but I don't think we would do it again given the plethora of other really great options (including spending an afternoon on Sandy Island).

We went out to Scilly Cay because we thought it was a cute place to go, despite having been warned about the prices. After enjoying the sun for a bit I went up to the bar to inquire about lunch. The owner was incredibly rude, telling me "they didn't have a menu" and after the second time I asked deliberately didn't say anything about the prices. We decided to have lunch somewhere else and left it with a two hour visit for some sun bathing. Overall it's a somewhat nice place but out in the wind and definitely not as great a beach as some other places on Anguilla. This place could be so much better...

So fun to flag down a boat at the end of the dock and be brought to the island. It is very cute and has a lovely little swimming area. They definitely know who comes on the island and will try to get you to buy food and drink. The food (although I'm sure delicious) is ridiculously expensive. Drinks not too bad though, so maybe just drink while your'e there. :-)

Stand on the dock and wave and a boat will arrive to take you over to Scilly Cay. Be sure to visit with George as you enjoy a drink, He is always good for a story and a laugh. Take a stroll around the island, drink in hand and soak up the atmosphere. If you have time, stay for a grilled seafood lunch or dinner.

Ok people, this is the deal! The experience was still worth the trip. A beautiful afternoon! Go for a swim, Great Rum Punch, Live Music on Sundays! Wonderful Lobster and Crayfish! The Owner/Father told us, what we we're having for lunch and handed me a Rum Punch and to have a seat anywhere. An hour later the lunch arrived and it was more than we needed for sure. When we received the bill I was in total shock! I almost fell off my stool..... I didn't think I had enough money to pay for it? Over $200.00 U.S And my wife didn't even have a drink.... Anyway, I think the Owner should have told us that we could have split the Lobster and someone should have told us on arrival that we need to rob a bank for lunch? No menu, no discussion about prices, just shock when you get the bill...... We did feel like we just got ripped off a little? It was not full disclosure..... His wife and kids are amazing!!So, when you go, I recommend having the Crayfish or sharing A Lobster for two and bring lots of cash! It's not for the faint of heart. After saying all this, I'll go back again, but smarter..... Cheers, Hammy

Udoxie will greet you and love on your women. He and his boys run this very secluded unique restaurant on a little island! This was our lunch destination during a snorkel tour! We went barefoot and in our swimsuits. The island has no power. Teams are cooking lobster, crayfish and chicken. The rum punch flows freely. We had a combo of lobster and crayfish but preferred the latter. Lizards run wild looking for scraps. It's s once in a lifetime chance for some really cool place to eat. Highly recommend!!!

like the little island, nice to spend a day, short little boat ride over but seems like you are far away. food is great but very expensive just for the experience. can get same food everywhere for much better pricing but if you are going for one trip for the day just for the experience then worth it. Watch out for those rum punches, they are no joke

StefanoP258

What a place! A little island a couple palm trees blue sea peace and quite! And to complete a little restaurant with 2 dishes, chicken or krey fish cooked on the grill. A lot of memories! A place not known to a lot of people worth it to visit and to enjoy .. I have been going there since early 90's I hope to go back soon. I also remember a small natural pool inside the island with 2 baby sharks in it. Coming soon

Once you trave trough caribe you understand that barbecue is one of their best choices when you are in the beach. This place only open on Wednesdays and Fridays, and serve only 3 options: Chicken, Lobster and Crayfishes. The Service was very nice, from the guy who pick you up in that amazing bay and take to the small island until the owner that is very funny and friendly. The quality of the barbecue is very nice. Only point is that it is at least 50% more than any other place in the island. It was quite overpriced, what can be understandable for the full scenery. We just found 75 buck for a meal too much.

Have been enjoying this little island beach restaurant for a number of years. The owner is a colorful personality that runs a very consistent service and food quality operation. The food is great and plentiful, the drinks are potent and the beauty of the little island and its views back toward the mainland are exceptional.
