We have eaten at Wheelers Pancake House for many years on our visits to the Perth and McDonalds Corners region. We walked the trails, explored the antique museum, and enjoyed every minute. The restaurant setting in the maple sugar bush is breathtaking. The fact that every piece of the giant log cabin comes from the surrounding trees is all the more interesting. This is a family run business and you can tell that by the pride and effort shown by the owners in every aspect of your visit there. We enjoy the best pancakes, sausage, beans, and coffee in the area. The maple syrup is made on site and all the workings are there for you to see. Very reasonably priced meals, caring service, and beautiful setting make for an unforgettable experience.

This is heaven for anyone remotely interested in the history of maple sugaring as it occurred many years ago. There are so many invaluable pieces of history within this museum that it boggles the mind. It's so special that the government of Canada has allocated it a "Heritage site of Importance" with a beautiful plaque.I have travelled through-out the northeast many times and this collection of sugaring items is "the best".Canadians can be thankful that Vernon Wheeler and his family have dedicated so much time, effort, let alone financial funds to make this museum a reality.Thank-you for the collection, how you have shared it and your knowledge with anyone that asks about it. It's appreciated.

Thank you for your review here. There is so much to learn about maple syrup making from its discovery by the First Peoples' to present. Glad to have you visit.

Isn't it amazing... the jugs take up a whole wall. Thank you for posting this review and glad we could show you a little Canadiana.

It's cool... I get it... it's not for everybody. As fascinating as the development of the maple syrup world is too me... I'd pick eating (or drinking) maple syrup any day;-) Thanks for visiting and your review.

It is indeed a wonderful place... thank you for that. I have seen this review on other websites and have posted responses asking for you to contact us. Unfortunately you must not have seen them (hopefully you will see this one). It distresses us that anyone could have been subjected to the kind of treatment that you suggest at our farm. None of us recall every being contacted on site and I have not received any e-mails from you. I don't dispute that you sent them, as the website that you posted your first review on listed an incorrect email adress for us, but I guarantee that I have never received any. Believe me, if I knew how to contact you I would. Rest assured that the treatment that you suggest that you were subjected to is not tolerated here. Please contact me at the e-mail adress or phone number listed on our website at wheelersmaple.com. I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for sharing your review. We love maple! We make it, eat it..... and even collect it! It is indeed a big collection. It holds the Guinness Record for the 'World's largest collection of maple related artifacts'. Glad you made the trip and thanks for posting the great pictures.

We stopped off the trail of Snowmaching, and it was a welcomed sight! It even had parking for a trailor. In the spring, everything is open to include the chainsaw museum!! Make sure you have cash or Visa, that is all they accept.

If you are the least bit interested in the history of maple syrup production this is the pace to visit. The exhibit is very detailed and well laid out. This is a must see especially after having breakfast in the restaurant and seeing the syrup actually being made.

Pancakes ok but the syrup good. Museum interesting. Staff pleasant. We visited in August so no sap running but try and get a table by the windows on the left (as you walk in). The bird feeder had chickadees on it and a chipmunk hoovering up the fallen seed, all close to the window. Hummingbirds came to the syrup feeder too not a metre from where we were sitting. Plenty of trails to follow after lunch to walk off the pancakes!

The pancakes are a bit lacking - they taste like they're from a mix. Lots to do for kids. Dining room feels like a summer camp.

The food is ok, the syrup is fantastic! Could benefit from scratch cooking.

Interesting to look at history of tapping and the making of maple syrup. Can watch the sap running through tubes while having pancakes and sausages. Then take a hike or a wagon ride through the bush.

Was there several years ago but I remeber being intrigued by the artifacts in the museum

worth the drive in the country. wait till the sap begins to run.
