This is the fourth year our group (Walleye Wanderers) have been to this fishing camp. Each year it gets better. The fishing is great and Eddie and Craig do a great job of taking care of our needs. Hot showers, lake water, propane stove, electric refrig and freezer & Wifi. 15 hp motors on 14 ft Lund boats. The walleye are also plentiful and always good for a shore lunch or dinner. Cabins are very adequate to accept a party of 10. Highly recommend if you want the opportunity to catch some big walleye and 40" pike.
What can I say! This place is truly special. Located in the James Bay lowlands on the majestic Attawapiskat River. I have been two years in a row now, and will now be an annual pilgrimage for me as this is this best walleye and pike fishing I have ever experienced. We have landed 10 pike over 40", including a 47" @ 20lbs and an absolute beast at 46.5" and 30 lbs. This river as so vast and has so much structure, I truly believe it could hold the next North American Pike record. As for the camp, considering it is in the middle of nowhere, it has all the comforts you could want, with comfortable cabins, electricity, shower, internet etc. this place is a true fisherman's dream come true. As for the owner Eddie, you couldn't ask for a more accommodating host, as he will make sure you will have the trip of a lifetime. Matt
Eddie North and his crew at Eddie North's Adventures at Attiwapiskat River was a phenomenal experience. We had a group of five (5) hunters, with three (3) guides assigned to the group. We changed up the 2 + 2 + 1 daily groups. Eddie, Thomas and "Coot" were our guides and top of the line with some incredible skills. For our entire group, this was our first moose hunt in Northern Ontario. Eddie made sure we were prepared with numerous communications with him in the year prior to the hunt. The other guides, Thomas, a native Indian guide who could be considered a 'moose whisperer', "Coot", who is an expert fisherman and butcher (which comes in handy when preparing the moose and fish), simply made the experience that much better. As far as food, how can you complain with surf and turf for dinner, great full breakfasts (with homemade Maple syrup). We (the hunters) shared a spacious bunkhouse even though we spent very little time in it. The time not hunting was spent with everyone enjoying the outdoors and the great company. Even though the camp is VERY remote, we still had satellite TV and internet, if needed. Needless to say, it wasn't needed, as we had great times EVERY night after a long day of hunting, from ~7am to ~8:30pm. One of my favorite times was everyone meeting at a camp site for lunch and cooking (and eating) fresh Walleye straight from the river. It must be mentioned that all supplies for the week and your equipment must all be brought in by float plane, which means you do need to be cognizant of weight. However, we were aware of that prior to the trip. You are over an hour flight from nearest 'civilization', so there is no 'runs' for supplies you may have not thought to bring. :)Unfortunately, the weather was not the best for moose hunting, as it got warm and stayed warm a couple days after arriving. That still didn't preclude us from getting two moose bulls and having a GREAT time. We enjoyed moose stew, bacon-wrapped moose filets, and moose heart for several different meals!Overall, this was one of my greatest trips and, without a doubt, my best hunt trip! The key was proper preparation and planning. And after this trip with all the tips and tricks I learned from Eddie and his crew, I'll be even MORE prepared for our next trip, which we scheduled already by the time we were leaving.Another thing I want to do when my boys get a bit older is take them up for a week of fishing to appreciate the land and outdoors like very few other places on Earth! If you are looking for the epitome of a great all-included outdoors (hunting or fishing) trip in a beautiful, remote area, I HIGHLY recommend Eddie North's Adventures!
