It was our pleasure to visit the wilderness with you both....you appear to love the experience as much as we do! It was lovely to see you embrace the canoe and explore the lake.

In August 2011 we had the ULTIMATE Canadian experience: "Free Spirit Adventures" flew us in in a bush-plane with floats into an isolated lake 20 minutes north of Peterborough, Ontario. Not another human being within miles of "our" Copeway lake. It was just us and the Canadian wilderness with its intriguing sounds and sights. Well, I have to admit that we had a comfortable cabin to eat and sleep in, in considerable comfort - we are not all Alexander Mackenzie, after all! We slung our gear into the bedrooms and our guide took us on a tour of the lake to point out the best fishing places. Within an hour we had enough Black Bass to cook for dinner. We were lulled to sleep that night by the 'plops' of fish in the lake, the haunting calls of the Loons, and the wild calls of coyotes from the forest. Next morning before dawn, the silence and sense of being in tune with nature as I sat at the lakeside was just in itself worth the trip. Total relaxation. I can think of no better way of getting in tune with yourself, your partner and the Canadian wilderness than a bush-plane trip to Copeway Lake with Free Spirit Adventures run by Elmhirst's Resort. It's the ultimate Canadian experience.
