I went to this Museum in the middle of the day on a Friday. There were two staff there who were eager to help show us around this wonderful gem. The admission rates were very reasonable, and there is so much packed into such a small house. Maple Ridge's history with the river was one storyline that captured me. Downstairs is a HUGE railway managed by the Dewdney-Alouette Rail Society. Please take the time to check this out.
This is a small museum overlooking the Fraser River in Maple Ridge. It used to be the house where the manager of a brick works company lived and is set up like a home would be at the time. Downstairs there is a model train set up and apparently on some weekends a model train club comes to run the train and explain the sites and the history of the railroad in this area. Outside the museum is a railroad car, picnic tables and lovely flowers. The young man who was at the museum the day I visited was very knowledgeable about the history of Maple Ridge, Haney and the district and there is a book that you can buy with more details in it.
