This is a great family park with lots of facilities. Fish and Chip shop, Band Shell, Boathouse restaurant, Kayaking, Forest walks. Kids water Park, Outdoor Pool, Boating and Pier. Nothing left to say just great!!
Rocky Point park is, without a doubt, the hub of outdoor celebrations and recreation in Port Moody. It has large fields for picnicing, a covered band stand for concerts, an outdoor swimming pool, water park, skateboard park, playground, a public boat launch that can handle all sizes of boats and a wharf that extends into the end of Burrard Inlet. Did I mention the amazing scenery, wildlife that frequent the estuary and the trail that extends around the entire end of the Inlet? Combine that with restaurants and eateries like the Boathouse Restaurant, Pajos Restaurant (famous for their fish and chips) and the Rocky Point Ice Cream store and you have the makings of a leisure destination. Enough can not be said of this jewel in Port Moody!
History, events, fun, excellent food in a variety of venues, (Pajos, The Boathouse or Rocky Point Ice Cream and often food trucks)A favourite place. The Port Moody Station Museum is a walk under the bridge by the pool parking lot!!!Enjoy. Be sure to walk along the pier. If your adventurous and have time, take the Shoreline Trail all the way over to Old Orchard Park (you can see directly across the inlet) Depending on the time if year you may see salmon spawning near the Hatchery at Noons Creek (which is another stop to take enroute). You may see bears along the trail (not frequent though). But a warning, if the tide is out, do NOT walk on the mudflats. Even though it looks like you can get across, you may find yourself completely immersed in mud(past your knees) and dangerously stuck while the tide comes in. So do not do it. Enjoy Rocky Point.
I come here very often with my family (since i live in the area) an i always enjoy the atmosphere. The trails leading up to the actual park are visually stunning to walk through (especially in at winter). And the varieties of events/activities that take place here is amazing like The Penguin Plunge, and Kayaking/boating. This park is one of my favourite attractions in Port Moody.
We love walking around the inlet it is so scenic. It is an easy walk or bike ride and clean washrooms at the beginning and at the end of the trails....very convenient. Lots of parking available too
I love the summer concerts in the bandstand. Saw Lindi Ortega last year, amazing. Thank you for the live music Port Moody !!
This is a very nice park for anytime of the year for all families! We just went for a short walk out onto the pier to enjoy the scenic views over looking the water & hills of Port Moody! During the warmer times of the year you can enjoy the park for family get together & enjoy lunch or cook outs at the park benches. During the busy times parking can be difficult.
This is a really nice park and a hidden gem of Port Moody. We enjoy parking and walking the trails through to Old Orchard and back. There is a band shell with Sunday afternoon concerts during the summer time. The pier is always fun to walk out on and sit and relax. There is pilings at the end of the pier with bird houses which you can watch the birds go in/out to feed their young ones. This is very scenic seeing the freighters, inlet, and sealife. Lots of parking, but if its sunny and warm, beware everyone goes here to hang out. Lots of picnic tables for picnics, lunches. Great place to meet with the family, kids. Large water park, play area too. There is a swimming pool, ice cream vendor, fish/chips too Lots to choose from Enjoy!!
This is an amazing park with beautiful water vistas and nice trails to explore. Tons of fresh air to rejuvenate the spirits.
Rocky Point Park is a well maintained, beautiful park. Parking is the only issue here, as there are few spaces in the no charge car park in front of the outdoor swimming pool, and the adjoining ice cream parlour ( they serve doggie ice treats and allow small dogs inside the store)There is a long covered picnic table section near the water (that can be partially reserved for groups - call Port Moody city hall to book) The grass areas are very large and ideal for playing outdoor games etc.The trails around the park stretch right around the inlet. Birdwatchers can spot numerous species, with Herons and eagles seen frequently. There is a spray park for children, with washrooms adjacent. There are dog parks in the park, but very basic. Lots of people, including me, bringing fido on leash for a good walk.If you are in the mood for fun on the water, there is a rental facility for kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. Guided padddling tours up Indian Arm are also offered.Last, but not !east there is a nice pier to walk and enjoy the view of boats etc.
We were looking for something to do to entertain the grandchildren and this fit the bill quite nicely. The water park is entertaining and just gives that little something extra to do
This park has something for everyone: ice-cream, fish n' chips, dog park, big open green space to play, water park, pool, dock, trails for walking and biking, great views, etc.... One of our favourite things to do is get an ice cream on a sunny day and watch the boats at the boat launch. There is an amazing view of the inlet and just generally a great place to go to unwind from the busy week.
This area should be called BEAUTIFUL British Colombia - this is particularly spectacular scenery. British Colombia is Beautiful - lots of lovely places. This area is lovely for walks, for being at one with nature. Amazing ice cream at cafe near by.
Lots of open green areas and water front. The park area offers boat launch, walking and biking trails, and events. Forget to bring your picnic lunch? well two very good basic food groups are on site: Pajos famous Fish & Chips and Rocky Point Ice cream - both stores usually having line ups for their offerings.
We biked from the ice cream shop to Old Orchard park on the other side, about 4 km each way on the paved trail along the bay. There are nice playgrounds on both ends (the bigger one is next to the spray park, where we started). Before leaving the park we walked the bikes along the wharf. Stunning view, nice people and friendly dogs on the trails and amazing weather (not guaranteed, though :-) ) ...
