My daughter loves the kids camp, they are excellent, she is learning to ski and has improved dramatically with them. Great job, we will be coming back.
Whistler has an excellent ski school for kids. My little one loved it and as completely tired out every night and yet raring to go in the morning. The instructors had time and patience and knew how to have fun. Would recommend the kids Ski School to anyone.
First and foremost a HUGE thank you to the Whistler Kids Team and Dan in particular. We spent the last week ivisiting WB, our 12 yr old son had a few lessons prior to the trip and was really looking forward to the week.We prebooked online and getting him sorted with the passes etc was a breeze and can be done from any WB Ski School location, we visited the one in the village even though his lessons were in Creekside.First morning, the WB Team are beside the Creekside Gondola waiting for students, Dan introduced himself as our sons instructor, he was extremely nice and also apprehensive that our son was a little nervous. He put him at ease quickly by saying he was looking forward to teaching him and that he was going to have a great week. After the first day it was evident that our sons equipment was not up to snuff, the Head Instructor advised that they would look into getting our son better gear from the rental shop for the next day so he could learn and have more fun, we decided to buy new gear it wasn't necessary but we were very thankful they offered. With the new gear our son had an absolute blast, he hasn't stopped talking about his trip and even asked when we will be returning so he can continue learning from Dan. We highly recommend this facility for kids, after skiing the week and seeing the Whistler Kids students and instructor all over the resort it was apparent that every instructor was trying to make sure the kids were having fun and learning as well.Thank you Dan and Whistler Kids
The staff at Whistler Kids are great, our little one hates separation, but they were so good with him it gave me peace of mind & ultimately he had great fun in the snow! We have been twice with our little man doing both ski & board lessons.
Our 9 yo did the 5 Day Adventure Camp. She had never seen snow before and by Day 5 had advanced to Level 3 and could confidently ski green slopes and negotiate gondolas and chairs. The school is super well organised, instructors are excellent and the kids have fun. Lunch is included at the Whistler Kids facility at Olympic Station. Kids are all fitted with a GPS tracking device in case they get lost they can be easily traced. The bonus is that parents are sent a feed from that device at the end of each day that shows exactly how far, how high and where their kids have skiied! An excellent program - highly recommended as it is great fun for kids (and bliss for parents!!)
my 3 kids were well looked after, taught to ski and made friends. They loved ski school. Even said great things about lunch!
My family went to Whistler in December. We put our kids in lessons at Whistler Kids for one day. My kids had never skied before.Whistler Kids exceeded our expectations. The instructors were knowledgable, professional and so organized.I've written a full review about our experience here: http://www.mybabystuff.ca/2015/01/whistler-kids-ski-school-review/
We decided to try ski school for our 3-year old this year. He's never been to daycare or preschool so we did not know how he'd fare a full day in "school" without us there - especially when his English is limited. Both my husband and I are skiers and were happy to see that he really enjoyed himself. On the first day, we checked on him an hour in (secretively) and saw that he was putting his skis on himself and taking them off! This was a big difference from when I was teaching him last year where he relied on me to do it. When we picked him up at the end of the day he was a happy camper and we decided to enrol him for the rest of our trip (5 days). We really liked what the instructors did to make the kids feel comfortable. All the instructors were great with kids and really well trained. On the second day, we didn't know that he'd have another instructor so he was upset when he met his other one. We found out that 5-day classes with one instructor start on Mondays and we didn't arrive until Tuesday. Next time we'll time that better.Over the 5 days, we saw progress and just loved the smiles as he gained confidence and skills (like side stepping, pizza, minor turns, putting on and taking off skis, and carrying them!) We liked the small group (4) sizes, and how they make learning skills fun.On Wednesdays and Saturdays the mountain's photographers take "class photos" and we just had to purchase them (they were so cute - $28 +tax)While they do allow parents to choose a lunch item, one suggestion for them next time though would be to have a menu we could check off. For example, we let the instructor at the door know that our little guy only drinks water and milk, no juice or fries and yet when we picked him up, he told us that he had chips, hot chocolate and juice! The next couple of days, we specified that if it was hot chocolate or juice to dilute with milk or water and they did. We were just surprised that since it seems people there are more conscious of what they eat, that they'd serve chips to the kids (especially the little ones). We're already thinking of going back and having him go again, but next time, we'd check about what was being served.
My son enjoyed 2 days with whistler kids. He loved it and told me that they were brilliant. He would go every day if he could. To me they were efficient, friendly, super organised, and incredibly patient. I would highly recommend them to everyone!
The instructors were great and the adventure programming was "awesome" according to our children Definately gives the kids a total experience
My 2 boys age 8&10 enrol the ski school for 3 days last dec 21,,everything is great until the third day of school, the instructor waiting for the line for chairlift to help each kids to sit with strangers adults, until my youngest son 8 years old told us that 2 adults sitting with him on the chairlift did not put down the handrails, thank god nothing happen,,I would advice parents to talk to the head running on this ski school to make sure those young instructor to advice the stranger adult sitting with the young kids on the chair to make sure to put down the handrails,,very scary,we felt they safe and protect with the younger instructor but it's not.
We signed our 11-year old twins for a 3-day package lesson. The whole process was great in that they really cater to the needs of the kids in their care and as the instructor/child ratio is 1:4, this meant that our twins were well cared for (our daughter is a type 1 diabetic so, we are always overly-cautious). Meals and snacks were included, another helpful logistical feature. Our kids loved their instructor, Cristian, who was born in Chile but has lived in Whistler for 15 years.
One of the best ski schools in the world! My 6 year old had his first experience here and got to level 3 in 5 days. Staff all wonderful and we cannot rate them highly enough
our 7 yr old twins first time in the snow and on ski's. The school is run well and the kids are looked after well. Ours did the adventure camp and got confidence and skills to be able to ski from the Round House to the village in four days. A special thanks to Sandy Britt the ski school manager who sorted out a number of issues in our pre booking we did prior to arrival, she took all the stress out of day 1 of our time in Whistler.
This is our second trip to Whistler with our kids and both times we put the kids in ski lessons. They advanced two levels in three days and can't wait to go again. We spotted them on the mountain and they truly are learning how to ski.
