Fort Edmonton park is a snapshot of Edmonton at various points during its history. It demonstrates how technology has developed and how the city has grown and changed over the past few hundred years. It features a working tram and steam train to get around the park.
For couples there are lots to see and do. The Bed & Breakfast stay at the hotel is very good. Not only do you get superb meals and a fine room, but you get to wander the grounds after the crowds have left. The staff is always friendly and want your stay to be great.
Logically thought out for visitors to travel through time with many interesting pieces to look at. All the staff could answer questions on the history of the area and the items on display.
This is a great place to spend a few hours or a whole day on your visit to Edmonton. The old time amusement park is great for everyone. Enjoy a ride on a stage coach, train or old trolly car.
Fort Edmonton Park is chalk full of history and is interesting for the very young right up to Seniors. The volunteers are friendly and full of information. We like to break up our time for coffee and a snack mid way so we do not tire out too quickly.
If you are travelling to Edmonton plan to make some time for a day at Fort Edmonton Park. Because to see it all, it will take all day. The kids always enjoyed it when we went in the summer and now the grand kids are excited going too. And bring your camera because you will get lots of opportunity to get some really good pics of you and the kids exploring this park.
Great place to visit as resident of Edmonton and as a tourist. It shows the history and the buildings are well preserved. Make sure you visit the bakery story for fresh bread and cookies.
If you like to go back in time this is the place. They have an old Fort, Theatre, Hotel. A lot of History. One of my favorite places in Edmonton. My husband and I had our first date there. We also stayed at the hotel and have eaten in the dining room. My husband's grandfather worked at the hotel in the early 1900's.
Take a step back in time and see how life was really lived "back in the day". I highly recommend this for everyone and is our must see for visiting out of town friends and family.
Plan on a few hours to enjoy everything and take the kids and grandkids. A great place to go back in time and see how things were made and how they lived. An awesome revenue for a wedding. Take the train ride around the park.
A great time to spent with the family. A lot of information through all the super volunteers. It will bring you right back to pioneer times. Have been there with the kids and visitors numerous times. Always fun!
I've been going to Fort Edmonton Park for years and I've always had a great time. The staff are generally really well informed on the history. To go and walk around in the summer months is wonderful, but I've recently been attending some of the off season activities and have been really pleased as well. Spooktacular and Christmas Reflections have been super fun. Fort Edmonton Park is the type of place that you have to engage yourself. I do suggest talking to the interpreters and story tellers. It will really enhance your experience. The Capitol Theatre is a gem. I was only recently made aware that they show old movies Thursday nights as well as having quite a bit of live theatre. The Christmas Pantomime was fantastic!! I really hope that they continue with that tradition. The Valentine Train radio show, which played over the Valentine weekend was a lot of fun. I also attended Hollywood Bound in November which guest starred Kevin McDonald from The Kids in the Hall. Keep an eye out for what is playing. You do have to search it out as I don't think that the shows are marketed as well as they could be.
Make sure you attend Fort Edmonton on a perfect weather day for your liking. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy a casual stroll around the grounds. Or dress warm and enjoy a sleigh ride in the winter months. Don't miss a ride on the steam engine-Robin the conductor is a fantastic guy. Enjoy old world candy and/or ice cream. Great place for company Christmas parties as well.
Fun for the whole family young and old, explore the late 1800 and the early 1900.So much to see in this family attraction.
If you are looking for family fun on a beautiful day. This is the place, lots to see and learn about history. Children enjoy all the buildings and sites to see. Stop for some ice cream as well it's worth it.
