These "heritage" gardens are only open to the public on four weekends during the year and they are book up to a year in advance. Well worth the effort to see.

Such a remarkable garden, with a surprise around every corner. The only negative was that, although our tour did not feel rushed, this garden requires many, many more hours to absorb than are available on the tour. I will just have to come back!

Open only four Saturdays a year, one must plan well in advance. The Garden is about 2 hours from Quebec City. Fortunately the scenery is lovely. There a numerous B&B's in the area and a lovely concert hall nearby. Each tour (group is approx 20 people) lasts over 2 hours and courses though numerous theme gardens, some refined e.g. the Japanese Garden, some more relaxed, all remarkable in design and detail. Two caveates: despite that reality that the majority of visitors are English speaking, language spoken is strictly French and the terrain is challenging for those with mobility limitations.

Absolutely stunning gardens. We will definitely be back. Everywhere we turned there were lovely blooms, but more the staging of the various areas, and stonework, and bridges, and ponds and the Japanese gardens take ones breath away. I had heard about these gardens in Lee Valley garden review and purchased tickets online in December. We had a lovely, warm sunny day and bought the book.

This is my second visit in 4 years and it's stunning every time. A few tips. Get your tickets way in advance as there is a narrow window of visitation during the summer. It gets cold so bring a fleece sweater and a wind breaker. The tour is likely going to be all in French. Find a bilingual person kind enough to explain a few aspects of the history of the place to you. If you ask questions in English they will usually do their best to answer. All in all a Spectacular gardens to tour of about 2 hours. My kids were bored as they probably preferred to run through the gardens. But all in all, worth the visit.

We purchased our tickets in January for a late July visit. Being bi-lingual the tour in French was very comprehensive for our group. These gardens are simply the most magnificent I have seen. The Cabot family is committed to their preservation. Plan ahead for a lovely day.

Tour in French and in the rain. A wonderful garden to visit anytime regardless. We plan to return hopefully when they have a English tour.

The gardens are only open 4 Saturdays a year and you have to buy your tickets long in advance. We bought ours in January for the August visit. The tickets are very inexpensive and visit is well worth the price. The only way to see the gardens is in a guided tour. You can't just wander around on your own. The guides are very good and every aspect of the visit is extremely well organized by very efficient, yet friendly volunteers.

Beautiful gardens with knowledgeable guides. This is on a private property and they only allow visits 4 days per year. Make sure you reserve well in advance! All monies collected for the visits are donated to a local fauna and flora association, sorry, I forget the name.

Loved the gardens and the tour is extensive; unfortunately, they conduct the entire tour in French and make no effort to accomodate English speaking tour attendees. Also, there are parts of the tour that involve climbing and descending where there are no railings for anyone with limited mobility so be prepared.

The tour was wonderful and sensitive. And we appreciated the opportunity to see a garden that was the work of a lifetime.
