Apart from great reds, the "dog tags" make a great addition to you key ring. Cellar door has character to match the reds. Yet to lunch, however am assured it worth remembering to book, otherwise you miss out - found out the hard way.
Innovative menu, but not pretentious. Attentive service, but not intrusive. Great setting. Overall fabulous experience.
An outstanding winery, beautifully presented, outstanding restaurant, superb service, just slightly let down by the cellar door experience . . . please make your wines and the tasting experience open to all in the public not just your premium clients.
We stopped off to taste some of the Hentley Farm wines following a recommendation from a local wine maker and certainly weren't disappointed. The lovely lady, whose name I wish I remembered, that guided our tasting was exceptionally knowledgable about the properties wines and made our afternoon a wonderful experience. The Blanc de Noir and 'The Beast' shiraz were amongst our favourites, not to mention the delicious 'Quattro' fortified. If only we'd been more prepared and booked in for lunch - just something to come back for in future! Can't wait for our wines to arrive once we're back home! Cheers!
This cellar door winery is next door to the award winning Hentley restaurant and should not be missed. For those who are lucky enough to have dined this is the place to buy those wines to enjoy at home.Situated in an1800's old cottage and overlooking a gum lined creek bed.Great selection of wonderful wines...reasonable prices.
We had the discovery menu with matching wines. Our waitress was just excellent. The food was amazing and unique, you won't find anything standard or familiar about it. The matching wines were Yum! Especially the mongrel, the fortified Shiraz, and the noble Riesling were our favourites. This place is pricy, but worth it for a special occasion.
Stunning tasting rooms and really, really interesting wines. Definitely worth a visit. Staff are fabulous too, we went on the spur of the moment and it was one of our favourites.
Loved the old buildings and atmosphere. Had never tried their wines before but were here for lunch and had a tasting as a "warm-up". They were better than expected with a fascinating range of grape varietals including one of my favourites, zinfandel.Service was excellent - yes, the wines are pricey but the Clos Otto was an amazing Shiraz.
Visited the winery only because of the reputation of the restaurant (was booked out so we couldn't go unfortunately). The staff gave us heaps of time describing not only the wines and vineyard history but also of the beautiful Seppeltsfield area. Loved a few of their wines enough to buy some too.
The only place in The Barossa we were asked to pay for wine tasting - as the wines are very middle of the road, we left in disgust
Didn't know what to expect but this place blew our minds away. We went with the Du Jour (4 courses) & matching wines & were beyond impressed. The chef comes out to explain each meal - our fav's were the steak sitting on smudge of chocolate & those marshmellows at the end!! I'm looking forward to our next visit. The staff were knowledgeable & friendly. The printed menu's were a lovely touch. I have some dietary requirements which were met without a hitch. By far the best dining experience we've had to date!
The 8 course degustation has been more memorable on each occasion. The restaurant is set in an historic old building with simple decor and great ambience. The wines produced from their own vineyard are full of the big BAROSSA flavours that we have come to expect. Whether it's the Beauty, Beast, Shiraz or Zinfandel, winemaker Andrew Quinn gets the most flavour from every grape!
After a simply superb lunch, we ventured to the cellar door to purchase some of the spectacular Shiraz that we sampled throughout our lunch. We couldn't decide between The Beauty, The Beast or Clo Otto...so we did what you do when unsure (and slightly tipsy) buy two of each. Happy day! Love this winery!
We visited on several recommendations and Hentley Farm Wines did not dissapoint !. The winery is beautiful and full of old-world charm. The tally room was a real gem and whilst the wines were absolutley stunning (we bought 6 bottles!), the staff wee extremely friendly and full of information on the history of the vineyard and the local region. incredible.
We visited this winery following a web site rating of Hently Farm and were not disappointed. The Shiraz was amazing. First time I tasted Zinfandel which was something new for me. The cellar door is excellent service offers an amazing taster menu with friendly and knowledgeable staff.
