lavender house the perfumery

This is not a lavender farm as many would assume but a delightful place where lavender products are made. Gorgeous hand creams, foot creams, soaps, air fresheners and a multitude of other things in a small shop located right beside a working distillery (not sure if this is the right word). Anyway - right off the beaten track but well worth the visit.Excellent products and worth the dollars spent.

That is, our gift shop products are sold at our recommended retail price in our gift shop. Actually they are often cheaper than in some shops, depending on the overheads faced by some retailers these days. We do offer an excellent online store for the convenience of our regular lavender devotees.-----

Oh Kezza, YES it is a 'new farm shed', well newish. We are really pleased and proud with our achievement here. Our PERFUMERY BUILDING was officially opened by Tasmania's Minister For Tourism in November 2010. We won a development grant from the Tasmanian Government to assist with the building of this dedicated manufacturing facility. This took 18 months to complete to our design. Of course it has to be as clean and 'sterile' as we can keep it, we manufacture skin care products after all, and as you found we love to engage with our visitors and answer questions.

Wonderful Chantel, thanks for sharing. Because we grow so many different varieties our flowering season is extended. Actually we are have a fair selection of lavender plants in bloom from September onward in the lavender collection.

Hi Staish. The lavender is something special when it is in full bloom usually from Sept through January. We grow our large collection of different lavenders for the interest of our visitors. HOWEVER, we are not a lavender farm. Lavender House THE PERFMERY is just that. Tasmania's only manufacturing PERFUMERY. There are many lavender farms if you are looking just for spectacle. What we offer is a unique insight into the manufacturing processes involved with toiletries and bodycare plus the opportunity to view the manufacturing area and sample product.Hope that you enjoyed your lavender bath gel.

Disappointed to find more of a retail shop than a perfumery. Most of the plants were yet to bloom so the colours were not there. Leave your visit to January.

we could see though the glass to where they extract the lavender from the plant to make their products. their were sample pots of different things so you could try before you buy, this is a production house so there are no tea room etc. We saw some lavender growing but not like the photos I had seen of lavender farms but it was not really the right time of the year for that. We were glad we went to this place

i've got many product of lavender..such as perfume and body spa..

A lovely place to visit . Outside there are lavender gardens, & inside is a viewing area of the manufacturing room. Also their shop stocks some beautiful lavender products which are made on site. The staff/owners very friendly & helpful.
