We went up there to have a look. Plenty of kids in the water but it didn't look appealing at all. The water is brown and there are still signs up warning of toxic algae which is enough to put anyone off! Much better swimming options elsewhere.

Angourie is one of favourite spots around Yamba to surf... the blue pool is nice to look at on your way past it but not one to throw your kids into.... lots of algae, more green than blue and council hard signs that we've seen for attest 18months now.... one to avoid swimming but nice to see.

After reading the reviews of the pools not being blue but green due to algae we were concerned. We visited anyway. No signs about & heaps of people jumping in. So the kids did & had a ball. The pool closer the carpark was green but ok. The other pool not so green if you are still worried.

We went here because my mother used to come to blue pool as a kid. As soon as you get there you see warning sign about the pool containing toxic algae that is harmful to humans and animals and swimming is not permitted. That doesn't seem to stop people. The pool looks more like a pond with weeds and reeds. Mum went in for old time sake and said the water smelt so bad. Wouldn't recommend visiting.

This deep swimming hole is the remains of a quarry excavation for material that built the break wall at Yamba's Turners Beach (great swimming) where the mighty Clarence River meets the sea. A short walk around the rocks will take you to Angourie Point for a legendary surf break.

Great work has obvioulsly been done since my last trip here 10+ years ago - improvements to walkways and landscaping. However, the Blue pool seems to be suffering from some Blue Green Algae + weeds and is not the beautiful colour it used to be - not fit for swimming by the looks of it at present.Having said that - a nice place for a picnic bear the ocean and my son climbed the rock wall for fun.

Drove to Angourie having heard of this wonderfully pretty place. It was a dump. The "Blue Pool" was barricaded off with health warning signs. Anyone reading this review, do yourself a favour and go to Port Macquarie or Port Stephens.

The Blue Pool got a mysterious feel to it. During our visit, swimming was prohibited due to some algae in the water that is said to be harmful to humans. Apparently, the algae come on certain months of the year. But, the area was beautiful. We got great pictures.

What a beautiful spot! Two large swimming holes created by natural springs right next to a gorgeous beach. Just a short drive from Yamba, pack yourself a picnic and make a day of it, with a great surf break, rock pools and two large swimming holes there is plenty to do for the whole family. We did not swim in the water holes due to the warning signs of potential dangerous algae present but that didn't stop many who climbed up the cliff faces (the first water hole has manmade steps to help you reach the top) and plunged into the deep waters, great entertainment just watching but we plan to return and hopefully let our inner child free to take the dive.
