We spent about six hours walking in the Blue Mountains and did the walk to see these beautiful cascades. We found some areas quite busy with tourists but once you started to do some of the walks, it was quite quiet ( a lot of tourists come by bus and don't do any walking as such).Lovely and peaceful with exceptional scenery. If you visit the Blue Mountains you need to see these.
The hike, the blue mountains, the view, very pretty! The walk is going a little bit up, but still easy to do.
We really enjoyed walking to the Cascades and seeing the beautiful scenery and water especially after the rain earlier in the morning. This is a beautiful spot that you should not miss when visiting the Blue Mountains.
Would recommend this walk if you wand to avoid the tourists, enjoy a good 2-3 hour walk and come to some gorgeous waterfalls at the end (especially good in Summer!). There are some steep steps you have to climb, and they can be slippery on occasion but it's quite an easy walk for those people who aren't crazy-fit... ie me. Definitely recommend carrying a camelbak and not a lot of extra stuff. You won't need anything aside from maybe a few snacks. Do this walk early in the morning and be in Leura (or Katoomba depending where you start from) by lunch time. I'd recommend starting in Katoomba because then the falls are at the end -- maybe bring some swimmers so you can get wet (not possible to swim, but like a shower thing) after a good hike. Along the way we might have seen about 3-4 people... and the falls were empty most of the time we were there. Good practice walk if you're just starting out bush walking and hiking. NOTE: website provided is entire walk, my review is just from "Solitary to "Leura cascades"
I visited this cascade waterfalls on a Monday at around 4pm. There were few tourists which is why I think I enjoyed it so much. The path has a lot of steps and can be wet but is not that strenuous and you can take your time over it, taking in the jungle atmosphere, and sounds. I spent a bit of time at the bottom of the falls taking photos and there were no people in the shots. The experience may not have been so good if it were busy. The lookout over the mountains is also s really good one. having seen no other falls in the area, i have nothing to compare it too, but it is very pretty and i would recommend. I spent about an hour there in total, but I took my time.
Today we have had the most beautiful walk to Leura Cascades. The views of the Blue Mountains can only be described as stunning. The falls are beautiful. It was quite a strenuous walk, with mant uphill steps at the end
The walk isn't too hard, there are quite a few steps. The waterfall is nice but not very big. If you do the 40 minute walk you get some lovely views of the mountains.
An easy walk down to see the waters as they make their way from the tops of the mountains to the valley below. Lots of view points along the way and not a hard walk so easy for almost anyone.
Despite being here multiple times, Leura Cascades is always a pleasant and easy walk. As per usual there are many steps involved, but I would say this is one of the easier walks in the Blue Mountains region.
Was such a lovely walk with waterfalls, and lush green ferns. We paid to go into Everglades gardens which was no where near as beautiful and spectacular as the cascades
We went here for a picnic and did not actually realise that there was a walking track to the Leura Cascades. After having lunch we had a look around the park and there were signs, in reading it was about the cascades and the walking track. It looked really nice so we then decided to do the walk. It was beautiful. The walk consisted of a number of little falls along the way and some magnificent views - the actually cascades themselves were amazing!!! Well worth the visit !!! :)
This is well worth the short walk from the car park. You might even believe that you on a proper bushwalk. The attraction is a little disappointing but never the less worth a visit. Watch out as the path is very uneven in places and needs careful attention. Give it a go.
There's a short 40 min return walk from the car park or, you can make it a whole day walk moving on to echo point via the 3 sisters. Be aware that parts of the onwards walk are currently under construction and detoursay be required.
The attraction is beautiful. Lovely pools and a streams (there are two that join up) and an easy enough stroll if you're reasonably fit. But do NOT try to use the toilets. When we were there they were disgusting to the point of being unbearable to stay long enough to actually use them. If that could be addressed this would be a top location.
This is by far one of my favourite places to visit when staying in the Mountains whether as family or couple or even alone. A must experience. Highly recommended.
