Unfortunately had an engagement party here. The staff didn't even communicate with their so called events coordinator or visa versa that anyone was coming. They then lied to us and told us they knew we were coming , then lied again by saying that the staff were setting up. The staff never set up, we had to set the whole thing up. The staff were rude and they casually watched on as a fight brewed out near the toilets. Great night if you have zero standards or expectations.
Had a wonderful visit with friends for lunch and a few good beers. Food was very good with a great selection of quality craft beers. Got some good merchandise at a reasonable price. We left very satisfied.
Murray Brewery has combined with Nelson Bay Winery to be one of the nicest places to visit in the Nelson Bay area. The staff are really friendly and when we enquired about their craft beers they were quick to offer us some samples. We decided on the Golden Ale and now to match a suitable lunch to the beer. The pizza to share was perfect on the taste buds, with anchovies, capers, chorizo and rocket. We sat out in the magnificent garden area with lovely views over the vineyard. If we are in the area again we certainly won't be passing by without dropping in.
The Brewery is a very picturesque location where u can sit back, relax & enjoy the extensive range of fantastic craft beers available. The food is quite delicious & staff are always on hand to help with any requests. Tours of the brewery will peak interest & the vineyards are pleasant to take a walk through. Always a great day out to bring the kids.
Great venue, shady grassy areas and air conditioned indoor area. Food was super fast. Great pit stop. Yummy burgers/ fries and well set up for groups.
We had a lovely long afternoon sitting under the trees with beautiful sunlight filtering through the trees. The beer samplers were a hit and plenty of wine choices were available. The lunch was very nice but a little overpriced I think and not overly generous in size. It was still very enjoyable and a look on the website before we went showed us what was available on the menu and the prices so we knew what we were up for. Plenty of room for kids to kick a ball and an area to play bocce. I noticed they have a bus available to Nelson Bay and a few other areas for those who are in the area and don't wish to drive. I would happily go back for another relaxing afternoon.
Was very interesting to learn how beer is produced and then to taste the final products as well as some wine tasting. My friend and i sat down to enjoy an Angry Man pizza which was just amazing.
A really nice place to have lunch if you are staying in the Port Stephens area. They have a great range of "designer" beer and nice food - have to recommend the pizzas - the food is a little on the pricey side for what you get but is served up quickly even though the place was busyThere is great spaces for the kids to run around and play in with dedicated equipment for themThere is of course a wine tasting area that runs tours but we didn't have time for thisProbably the best thing about the place is the atmosphere - you just cant help but relax and have a good time with friends - I would defiantly go back
This Brewery is cute! Whilst we didn't same any of the food their, the beer is quite nice on a hot day! Definately bought out their Murray's Whale Ale and Anrgy man's Beer! It's a cute little place to just hang out and have a couple of beers!
Had a pleasant lunch here recently. The veg pizza was nice, though the pumpkin pieces could be smaller and the base could be improved (it was just a bit under cooked and went soggy, but I am a slow eater). Hubby had the ploughmans/brewers lunch, minus the ham, and he loved it. We tried a few different beers and really enjoyed them. Grabbed a few things from the shop too, including the beer BBQ sauce which is fantastic. All in all, it was an afternoon well spent.
Lovely scenic setting under the gumtrees with a very relaxing outlook,I ordered a pizza which was delicious and too large for one serve, great wedges ,good service although they were very busy, nothing was too much trouble
Really enjoyed tasting Murrays beers.Did the tour of the facility (extra cost) informative tour. Entertainment was good.Only criticism was cost of food ,found it a bit expensive for what you got.Very nice setting
We have lived in Newcastle for just under a year and a half. Today we visited Murrays Brewery for the first time with family, and I'm wishing we'd discovered this place sooner! 40 minutes or so out of Newcastle, on your way to Nelson Bay, Murrays is set amongst a vineyard which also hosts their brewing sheds and features their bar with local brews on tap, and restaurant surrounded by some nice lawned areas shaded by large trees. The beer is excellent; different rather than a variation on the popular varieties, with something for everyone. There's also a small gift shop and plenty of wine if that's your thing. The food was in keeping with the brews, top notch. We'll be back for sure. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a quality beer and good food.
Nice atmosphere and better beer. Had lunch here on a trip to Nelson Bay. I recommend the ipa. Good for families as well.
A group of us went to Murray's brewery on the weekend for the first time ever. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and asked if we would like to try wines. She let us try anything we wanted and was very knowledgable regarding the wines. We got the lunch menu and the variety to pick from was quite extensive, and extremely well priced. The meals came out in good time and they were absolutely to die for! I haven't had a better meal in SO long. The place was extremely modern and the meals were served to look rustic and modern also. I could not fault this place in any way shape or form. It was genuinely delightful. I must say I am not a huge beer drinker, however the Murray's Dark Knight was divine! A great day out I would recommend to any one.
