Clean quality sand, interesting rocks and cliffs, and a pristine beach that stretches for nine miles from Redhead to Blacksmiths. Apart from the surf clubs at each end, all development is well back from the beach and invisible. The beach is patrolled at each end, and there is a dog-friendly stretch south from 2nd creek Redhead end). Redhead Beach Cafe serves excellent food and coffee from it's tiny kitchen. For fantastic views, take the road to the top of the bluff and the unofficial path from the tiny memorial park (see photos). There is no viewing platform and the ground can get slippery, so be very careful near the cliff face.
Parking area for heaps of cars. Patrolled with lifeguards. Restrauant on beach too. Walk towards southern end to dog friendly area.
First went here in mid 1980s when there was just beach- but a good family spot on a weekend. Return visit this year revealed a new Life Saving Club and really big car-park.The beach is still clean with good fine whit sand and very little litter: saw a pile of rubbish that had been collected awaiting council pick-up which indicates that the beach is being well manged and being kept safe. The swimming beach is patrolled and has safety swim flags .
Redhead beach is a fabulous part of the world, great to take the dog walking, swim, surf and don't forget the Surf club bar is open on Sunday afternoons at 4 pm sometimes have bands as well. Worth the visit.
Great beach with a cliff to the north end and some rocks about 300m south of the cliff. The waves were rolling in and making some pretty entertaining currents to play in as they went out in and around the rocks. There's also a sand bar between the rocks and the cliff so lots of pools to float about it. Probably most important is the ice cream shop that serves massive scoops of pretty tasty ice cream :-) Enjoy! Also has free parking.
The southern end of Redhead Beach is a doggy beach. Gotta love the opportunity to run and swim with our 4 legged kids. Easy to access, the water is clean however there are sometimes rips and channels that can be dangerous. Great place to take the 2 legged kids as well - the lagoon is fun for the littlies.
My local beach, has a shop that sells great food, cakes and coffee. Have a swim followed by lunch or coffee, meet friends, it's a perfect venue.m
we couldn't find this beach at first but once we did wow it was spectacular, you could see the massive ships in the distance and once we walked along the beach for about 15mn we came across a lovely little coffee shop that over looked the sea it was amazing
Brilliant view of the ocean, Caught one of the nicest sunrises from the beach over the 2 hours I was there. The water was lovely and looking absolutely tempting for a decent surf. Wish I could post a picture of Eagle head cliffs as it brightens in the ensuing sunrise
