You cannot beat the enormous smiles on wee faces when the birds fly in to feed. Priceless, soo many birds...
Everyone feeds them & they love the area. This was a highlight of our trip, the beautiful birds everywhere.
Each day at about 3pm at the big4 in burrill lake they feed many native birds. large flocks come to be fed and you can walk amongst them. amazing. very spectacular.
Our children loved feeding the friendly Rainbow Lorrikeets. And that they were able to have them on their hands, shoulders & heads.
It was such a fun activity to do with your friends and family, not just about feeding the birds, cause they were HUGE numbers of birds that will come to you, and enjoy their food by your side. I love the sensation of being so close to the birds and there were also several others birds around the feeding area, me and my friend really like the talking bird which replay all things we say. Such a fun holiday! :)
The Bungalow Park at Burrill Lake is quite facinating they have been feeding these birds for a very long time. Its a spectacular event & great for the children & also adults.
We recently joined the Grey Nomads and our 1st Holiday Park we visited was the Big4 Burrill Lakes. From the on-line booking to our departure we found the friendly and helpful staff and the location of the park on the edge of the lake excellent. The park is ideal for walks on the beach and around the lakes, close to everything, ideal for families and couples with good facilities throughout the park.Very enjoyable stay thank you
We just enjoyed visiting Pebbly beach and seeing all the Australian native wildlife and the most beautiful setting. very serene and just beautiful. And the lorrikeets and parrots just flocked to us. There as a giant Goanna basking in the sun, there were kangaroos and mothers with joeys in the pouch.
Hold the bowls firmly because they tip if the birds all sit on one side. And be warned they're really noisy. Other than that, was amazing to be involved in the feeding.
I liked the birds, and the environment they are in, it's also nice seeing the joy on the childrens faces when they see them
The lake is often closed and smelly, not good for swimming. When it is open it is glorious. Check first.
For some free family entertainment I recommend you go and visit the Bungalow Park @ Burrill Lakes just south of Ulludulla N.S.W. We have been visiting this attraction for over 30 yrs. At 3pm (March to October) or 4pm (During Daylight savings time October to March) daily you can feed wild Rainbow Lorrikeets. The park owners provide the food in little food bowls for free. The children or any bird lover can pick up a bowl and hold it out for the birds. The birds will fly down out of the trees and land on your shoulders and arms for a feed. They hang about for about 40 mins or so. You don't need to be a resident of the park to enjoy this attraction. The feeding area is located just outside the entry to the park. The kids absolutely love the interaction with these birds. There is also an aviary with friendly cockatoos, galahs and other birds. It is well worth a visit.Next time you are passing through Ulludulla, don't forget to call in to Bungalow Park and feed the Wild Rainbow Lorrikeets. You will love it!
