charleville cosmos centre & observatory

Definitely worth a visit, something for everyone - especially love the sun viewing. A real hit with the kids and the adults of all ages.

I must admit I was pretty sceptical about the cosmos centre visit but it was fantastic! It was a perfect night for it, cloud free, and nice and warm outside. The guides were very informative and friendly as well. Definitely worth the trip!

I loved to go out into the OUTDOOR observatory! It was such an awesome outback experience! Not only did I enjoy seeing planets and learning about stars, but I also collected some awesome merchandise that will feature in my home!

We were lucky to have a clear night and enjoy the stars via the telescopes. To sit in the dark and watch the observatory open to reveal the universe is magic. This place is amazing with so much information about the universe given to us via dedicated and talented folks sharing with us the cosmos. Looking at Saturn with its rings and observing stars that sparkle like diamonds is truly moving. The complex has a café and great souvenirs and talented guides. A credit to Charleville that they gained funding to erect this Centre. The gardens around the complex are truly magnificent and we loved our trip here and would highly recommend the viewing to all. Very special from very special caring folks. So proud of their town. .

This was an activity that was wonderfully unexpected. We had not seen the star through telescopes before and the people running the activity were very knowledgeable and would make sure that you could see the stars and planets that you were looking for.

We attended this place as a family of four. It is a very well appointed place with an excellent coffee lounge catering for all tastes. A very well appointed visitor centre has a lot of memorabilia for sale as well. The night time observatory tour was amazing and very well run. The only downside was we only had 4 star viewings which I think was a bit poor. There should be at least 6 telescope viewings, preferably 8. However, pricing was reasonable.

The night sky talk and observatory were excellent, the staff were hands on and knowledgeable. Their cafe serves the biggest lamingtons and cookies I have ever seen! Their souvenir shop is very well stocked with unusual items and prices are reasonable.

This was my second star gazing experience at the Cosmos Centre. The information is given in a user-friendly way and the whole experience is practised and flows well. Definitely worth a visit. Just sitting under the stars and thinking about the immensity of the universe is cathartic.

Loved every minute of it, especially the interactive parts, found our guide well informed even though she confessed to be still learning, she has a bright future ahead of her I would think.

A visit to the Cosmos Centre and Observatory is well worth the cost. There is a night observatory session which is really great. Saw 4 different stars/planets through the telescopes. There is also a daytime film and interactive displays worth seeing.

only were able to talk about meteors nothing else,we went in daytime but it was OK for a stop.Good milkshake from coffee shop

Can't rate this high enough. Friendly, informative, interesting, great facilities. Young or old will get something from this.

My husband and I recently visited the Cosmos Centre and found the staff very friendly and so helpful. We loved the sun viewing and the night sky with all staff knowledgeable on their topics. Everything was organised to perfection.We also did the Convey tour,RFDS hangar and plane tour, and saw the launch of the daily weather balloon.

Thank you Monique for a great presentation. We found the tour fascinating, an unknown story we should promote more. The information centre staff are brilliant, well done Charleville.
