Thank you so... much Captain Fozzy for providing such a wonderful tropical experience. Have been to Mission Beach on a number of occasions, but this time our time there was made very special having been on Fozzy's 3 Hour, 3 Island Tour. The journey in the boat was very comfortable and the on board commentary on the history of the islands was most informative and entertaining. Great way to appreciate a small slice of heaven on earth cruising around the islands and having time to unwind, relax and enjoy the absolute magnificence of the area. What a wonderful way to see some amazing sites in the region.$50 for a trip out to the islands for 3 hours! Unheard of in Australia!The trip includes a very comfortable boat ride and commentary from Captain Fozzie on the family group of islands and some history of Dunk and Bedarra islands. This area of North QLD has been very badly affected by Cyclone Yasi in 2011, it is a great way for others to understand the impact this cyclone had on the area and still does now in 2014! To end the tour we stopped at a secret location for 1.5 hrs and swam and snorkelled on an island in paradise. Be prepared though! No, toilets or food, drink , facilities available on the tour, my suggestion is, go to Woolies, by a cooler bag, some cheap tetra pack drinks or water, freeze them and take them with you and some fruit perhaps. It is very hot on the islands, you need fluid, a hat and sunscreen! Go for it! It was GREAT!

What a great day we had on Dunk Island took the Water Taxi. I suggest if you want a short day try the 11 and 4 PM combo but there are lots of things to keep you amused so the 9am and 4pm return is not a bad option. You should try and go on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday as the cafe is open and they serve a clam shell with prawns the size of babies arms and two Carona's that alone was worth the trip.

This was a great way to get there(it is the only licenced commercial way to get there). The ride over way quite bumpy, but that was only because the tide was rough. However the ride back was calm. You wait in the office until it comes, then Nancy(one of the staff) will take you across the road to the beach. Once you get to the beach, you will be advised to take off shoes and remove belongings from pockets as you will have to walk through the water to the boat. The water will come up around waist high, so be aware of this and don't be frightened to get wet! Nancy and Fozzy( the boat driver) will help you onto the boat and off it when you come back. This is a professionally run business which is run by locals. Apart from island transfers, they offer a 3 hour, 3 island tour, snorkel hire, bike hire and wind kart hire. There is also ice-creams, cool drinks and postcards available for sale. Overall this is an enjoyable experience that you won't regret. Your day in paradise is awaiting!

The booking staff was very friendly But the driver was kind of weird. But thanks anyway, we had a great day on dunk island!

Friendly crew make the short crossing to Dunk Island an enjoyable trip. Be prepared to get your feet wet on Mission Beach as there is no jetty!

The booking staff member was helpful and ready with a joke. Getting onto the boat was fun. I was told to be prepared to be knee deep in water to access the boat but being vertically challenged, I ended up wet to thigh level. The taxi driver/captain was a man of few words and didn't contribute to the "fun" of the short trip to Dunk in any way. However the view spoke for itself and the pier at Dunk made the exit from the boat very easy. The boat kept to schedule, so don't be late! We left the island at 4pm on the dot, without a word of warning (same captain).The only worry was the lack of safety instruction - nil for either trip. Not sure where or if there were life jackets. Good value for money though.

friendly staff and fast transport. dunk island is the perfect day trip when staying in mission beach, we found ourselves a little spot on the beach and didn't see another person all day.

Just perfect for a fun day on an island! There is a little snack bar on the island serving prawns and chips. Not so good for snorkelling to my opinion...

A group of us got the water taxi over to the island. The staff were very professional and helpful, the boat well appointed and they made it easy. Wear shorts for getting in and out of the boat at the mission beach end.

We used the water taxi for transfers to and from our week holiday on Bedarra Island Resort and couldn't fault the friendly efficient, very helpful service from Nancy and team here.Its a magical experience walking out over the sands of Wongaling Beach, rolling up your shorts, and wading through the gentle swell of the Coral Sea, onto the boat.Highly recommended.

We caught the water taxi for the five or ten minute ride out to Dunk Island before taking the easy walk up to the lookout - well worth it. We then had a swim adjacent to the jetty before catching the taxi home, chatting to the skipper along the way. He is very knowledgeable about the local area. Halfway back a local pod of dolphins put on a great display, swimming under the boat and rolling, jumping clear of the water and generally having a great time. Quite a highlight. (The photos were no good - the action was too quick).

Great service, efficient & very friendly. Made the organisation of the holiday very easy. As soon as we arrived, felt like we were on holidays straight away.
