krys the crocodile

WOW. what a beauty! Stick your head inside this enormous replica of a croc shot by a girl back in the day. Gives you perspective into how large these things can get. Fun little park for a picnic and toilet nearby during business hours. We drove past it a few times, but its not until you stop-get out-and stand next to the thing you realise the size. Worth a corny tourist shot!

It's hard to imagine that a crocodile of this size ever existed. It really is something you can't believe the size of until you're standing next to it....it's HUGE! A definite must see when you're in Normanton. We got some great photos of the kids sitting in Krys' jaws!

If you find yourself in Normanton,walk down the main street and stick your head in the mouth of this monster.It is nearly 9 metres long and hard to believe that one this size actually existed, except perhaps in the dinosaur age .The actual croc was shot by a lady named krys i think, hence the name .There are good information boards at the site.Be careful when walking alongthe banks of local rivers and streams.

Krys is massive. It's hard to believe that any crocodile could be that big, but this is apparently a life-sized replica so I guess they do. It's had a paint job recently so is looking pretty spick and span last time I saw it. What's not to love about an enormous crocodile? It's on my 6 year old's bucket list.

Close to the Council chambers, this life size model, over 8metres long is incredible ... modelled on the largest estuarine crocodile in the world that was shot in the gulf region. Be prepared to take many photo's though they do ask that you not climb on Krys.

Yes she was a brave lady to shoot this monster croc. Seeing is believing. Good information boards at the croc replica.The information center at Normanton is well worth a visit and offers free coffee and a biscuit for the driver. Excellent information on the road conditions in the area.

Normanton is famous for its crocodiles and they don't come bigger than Krys the salt water crocodile.Named after the woman who shot her, the replica of Krys is life size at 8.63m. Great for a full length photo or for one with your head in her mouth, Krys is worth pulling over for.There's an information board at her tail so you can read all about her and she's also conveniently located in front of public toilets.
