布里斯班为数不多的景点之一,如果在布里斯班有多的时间,那就来晃一下吧,时间不够不看也不可惜。艺术的东西,我自己是看不懂。但是消遣一下时光还是蛮惬意的

I always enjoy a visit to this Gallery, and the nearby Gallery of Modern Art. Some excellent exhibits with good descriptions, both for adults and kids who would also enjoy some of the interactive exhibits. Apart from the on going exhibits there are always new things and displays to see. Their, moderately priced, café is highly recommended, well run, spotlessly clean and a beautiful setting.

Loved the exhibitions it is such a peaceful place to walk around especially with the fountains surrounding the complex.Finished off with a coffee in the outside cafe surrounded by the sound of the water features

The art gallery is part of the South Bank Cultural Centre. It is separate to the modern art gallery but many of its exhibits were very modern and abstract. The exhibits encompassed several centuries from Europe, Australia and Asia, but with a particular emphasis on the Australian. There are very few well known exhibits in the gallery but there are many high quality works and it is all free. We spent several enjoyable hours perambulating through the many galleries and had a very enjoyable time. The labelling of the exhibits was very good and there were several urls in the form of QR codes available for extended study of some of the pieces. Another good feature is the sheer amount of exhibit space available. Even though the gallery was busy due to a very wet day there was plenty of space and people were not getting in each others way.The art gallery has a cafe which serves very tasty food, we tried the savoury dishes and cakes. The food there is well worth while and the fact that we had to send the chicken schnitzel back due to being undercooked was probably due to them having introduced a new menu.

This is a lovely gallery and the vibe is chilled out and casual. You could easily wander the exhibitions then take a break at the cafes and fill in several hours. Situated beside the GOMA the modern art galley and the library with cafes over looking the river and great shop to buy some local crafts and books.

Except when there's a visiting exhibition, this jus shows how bereft Brisbane is culturally. As Clive James said, in Europe, one can walk through gallery after gallery of masterpieces. Here there's just the odd one or two in the whole place. Why can't deals be done with Europe for the loan of some of their stock, so much of which is kept in storage and hardly ever displayed?transport costs again prohibitive.

Paintings of the Old Masters are stunning. Modern Art isn't to my liking but the work involved is impressive.

Beautiful building and surrounds. High quality shows- I saw FUTURE SHOCK: Thirty Years of Japanese Fashion and Japanese art after 1989. Both exhibitions were excellent. If you are into art then this place is (or should) be on your list of Australian galleries.

If your into art ... actually even if your not into art I suggest taking a visit to the QLD Art Gallery - you may be pleasantly surprised at what you may find. If your bored and nothing else to do and would like to do something out of the box, go along and see what is on exhibition, you may enjoy yourself :)

I enjoyed the gallery. There was a great selection of Australian artist through a large range of time. Also, a few pieces of other interesting European art. My one issue was the gallery layout brochure, it wasn't as clearly defined room wise as others I have been to and so we had to do a bit of back and forth to catch everything.

We enjoyed seeing some of the exhibits in the QAG as we made our way through to GOMA. There was more to see on the upper floors which we will get to in another visit. We returned to the QAG Cafe for lunch. Food was nice, serving size was light, but still enjoyable. Seating available inside or out near the fountains.

A couple of really interesting exhibits with a good range in the Sublime exhibit, from 2D to installations and film or video, and a great use of the space. Hanga was great, printmaking deserves more attention in general.
