Lovely surrounds and excellent tasting experience. We didn't expect to be seated and looked after so warmly.
Customer service was exceptional never felt so well looked after in a winery before Was treated like royalty!! Highly recommend for an hour of joy
Enjoyed our tasting at Indigo - loved it so much we joined up as friends so we can keep enjoying their wonderful wines!
We dropped in on our way to Beechworth and were not disappointed! The Pinot Gris and chardonnays are excellent. We have since become wine club members and look forward to our regular wine deliveries.
Stay at Indigo too, with a short walk to the cellar door tasting you can put into a relaxed schedule... How beaut to stay at the Indigo Vineyard... Now available as a Farmstay through Stayz. The reviews of the tasting experience all seem positive, and so too my experience. Bridget ran our tasting and we've definitely benefitted from her knowledge of the wine and the area... Of course, staying there opens up the options to visit places other than the appealing Beechworth, such as easy visits to Milawa, Oxley, Everton, Eldorado, Stanley, Gapsted and Myrtleford... no shortage of stuff to do, if you want to, and the dining in the area isn't confined to those towns (maybe I'm specifically thinking of Tarrawingee, and the restaurant in the Plough Inn there, but there is bar food too; and see the last paragraph). The place is very comfortable....8 staying there as couples is no problem, and the communal areas, including a sunny verandah, allowed everyone to enjoy the place. We did half-day excursions to ensure we got to enjoy the house. We've been to the area a few times, and really like the High Country....over the years we've been straight through on the (Hume) Highway too many times, and once have driven right through on the Great Alpine Way Road to Gippsland.... we have begun to rectify the wrongs, and have now spent quite a few days exploring the Beechworth area...I think the region is the pick of the picturesque valleys around the place. This time we cycled the Rail Trail from Beechworth to Everton, and then on the local roads to Milawa (or at least to the Milawa Cheese Factory). We did one of the softest options of cycling in the area and so retained the will to eat and drink heartily at lunch at Milawa. One of the crossings of Diffey Road is the place to go looking for a view of the Vineyard, or even to cycle to the house if you like the idea of being off the road and off the trail. The satellite view of the area will tell you everything, and you will have discovered plenty of info on the Rail Trail if you know of cycling options in the area.We also did the Reid's Creek Walk from the Beechworth Gorge to Woolshed Falls. ...less than 6 kms (one way) but the perfect prelude to a bite to eat in Beechworth. The place opened up great options, and although we've never done this before we got in professionals to enjoy a meal prepared for us at the house. A simple evening, accompanied by the wine we selected from Indigo. ..... Indigo was the perfect base for our activities, and hope we can plan the next time soon too...
Our second visit to Indigo, this time we stayed in the farm stay house on site. Bridget gave a detailed and patient tasting session, after which we wandered back to the farm house to drink the wines we had bought sitting on the balcony watching the sun set.Dinner was cooked in the house by 2 local chefs who run a catering service whilst we sat around the fire and told increasingly tall tales.Great set up made even better by not having to drive to the next cellar door, or into town for dinner.
Went here with girlfriends as part of our ladies weekend. It was the first tasting of the day and we were blown away. Beautiful wines, extremely generous pours, food pairings, served seated and not rushed so you could really appreciate each of the wines for their uniqueness. The scenery was extremely picturesque with the sheep and the vines right in front, and the service nothing short of perfect! Would highly recommend this cellar door to everyone! A truly wonderful start to the day!
Wine tastings are often a line up of glasses and fight with a busload of tourists Indigo was far from this, Rob served us a range of lovely wines, the Secret Village was the highlight.Having some cheese and biscuits to complement the wines added to the experience. The walk around the vines afterwards followed by lunch in Beechworth made for a great day.Well worth a visit
great tasting - seated at tables with a small plate of cheese & crackers.top Pinot noir and Chardonnay/Rousanne blend great too! stop by if you're on the way from wangaratta to beechworth.
A little side trip that turned into a highlight. Indigo provided something really different: friendly, earthy conversation about their wine that was honest and refreshing. No hype. Just the strengths and weaknesses of their different wines and the chance to talk and taste.
Great way to do wine tasting with Bridget giving a very informative tasting. Became a "Friends of Indigo" great way to keep on tasting such beautifully made wines. Will definitely return next time in Beechworth area.
We made a return visit to Indigo Vineyard this time accompanied by a group of friends.Even though it was well into Autumn we enjoyed sitting in the sun out on the terrace.Bridget made us very welcome and hosted an informative and enjoyable tasting. The Indigo Cellar Door is charming and relaxed, situated on a beautiful property. The short drive from Beechworth takes you through delightful countryside.Indigo wines are made from estate grown grapes and Bridget provides the story of their journey to the delicious wines we tasted.Drop in or call ahead to book for a Pinot Masterclass.
Wine tasting with a difference - Fantastic learning experience but also lots of fun. Very informative
Enjoyed another visit to the Indigo Vineyard Cellar Door when we stayed in Beechworth recently. It is a short drive from Beechworth towards Wangaratta, just past the Golden Ball bridge on the left. We loved their new tasting format, sitting at a table with a complimentary taste plate and expert guidance from Bridget, Bob or Casey. We have also experienced a pinot noir "masterclass" (which must be booked). They have a great range of red and white wine all of which is from grapes grown on their vineyard. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the Cellar Door attractive with adjacent rows of vines. Following our tasting we enjoyed a stroll along Hodgsons Creek, which runs through the property. Finally we were impressed with the great value available in some special offers (ask about "Friends of Indigo"). This is a real find and well worth the pleasant drive from Beechworth.
