The lovely couple who met us in the tasting room were magic, lovely to talk to.They rang and made arrangements to have lunch in the Restaurant, wow what great service, what great food. After one of the most relaxing lunches, make sur you have it on the verandah, we returned to the cellar door and purchased and moved on.
We stayed at the resort(?) but when we tried to taste the wines at the cellar door, we dared to ask the receptionist who also had to do the cellar door after much sighing she agreed to do the tasting at the bar of the restaurant (You want me to go down to the cellar door!). Then we went to select some wines for tasting. Oh we don't have that (no white wines at all to taste) and the more premium reds we weren't allowed to taste needless to say we bailed without tasting anything.
We bought a two day package to stay here. It was on a special deal which was good value. Buffet breakfast was included and it was great. We had dinner here and the meals were very good also. The staff are quite amusing personalities. I mean this in a nice way. I would love international visitors to stay and experience their quintessential Australian country hospitality. There are no televisions in the room but I have fox tell on my computer so I was sorted. The pool was a little disappointing and looked a tad murky but that wasn't the purpose of our visit. The spa seemed in good condition and I would imagine would be great on a cold night.Pack aero guard as this is country Australia and flies and mosquitoes are a part of our life. Mind you the rooms were all well screened. The decor is dated but I have to say any hotel inspector would have trouble finding any dirty spots in the room. Our room was spotless. A big credit to the cleaning staff and I must say I was surprised our room was cleaned each day. This is unusual nowadays. The wine is excellent also and great value.
worth doing the sunday 10am tour as its a gem the winemaker has such passion and humour and the samples are generous!
Wines on sale are worth the visit and the tour of the winery was very interesting and genuinely conducted.
Visited Warrenmang with the intention of tasting some wine and having lunch. We chose Warrenmang as it has a good reputation. We first of all went to the tasting room which was locked. The sign said to use the telephone supplied to ring for assistance. We rang but no one answered. We then drove on to the restaurant. Signs from the entry from Moonambel indicated that the restaurant was open everyday for lunch. On the door of the restaurant there was an indication that reservations were preferred however this was not on the road signs. At the reception we were asked if we were checking in or if we wanted lunch. When we indicated we wanted lunch we were told that there was no lunch on but perhaps they could do a cheese platter. Just as we were about to ask if this was possible another lady appeared with a large dog (inside the restaurant) eating a bowl of cereal (after 12 noon). We were quickly told that there was no chef and there may not even be a chef for the dinner that night. So we left Warrenmang not having tasted any wine and not having anything to eat somewhat bemused as to the good reputation. Obviously they do not need any patronage.
The Cellar Door staff took us on a journey through the making and drinking of wine. Outstanding. Certainly coming back.
Went to this place with another couple and found it to be a fabulous place to explore the intricacies of wine making and the history of Warrenmang winery. Took part in a fabulous tour (with the owner, Luigi) around the winery and then was astounded by the cuisine of offer at the restaurant. The tour was great, but the food was even better. Great place to tour, either for the day OR stay overnight. Fantastic.
The food in the restaurant was fantastic. Staff very friendly.Winery tour was really good and they make great wine.
What can i say spent the weekend here, My wife and myself were blown away by the ambience and tranquillity of this great resort. What ever you do get your hands on a bottle or two of Black Puma what a delightful wine. We will be Back again and again.
Behind the tasting area, if you are lucky you may get to visit their cellar. It is under new management & while we didn't try the restaurant this time, we heard great feedback from those that did.
Just stopped in to sample some wine and was impressed by the people and their passion and of course the wine.Definitely worth going to. Try the Black Puma and the Miracle.
While the rooms could do with a face lift the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent. Service at dinner was friendly and hospitable although we lost control of the white wine after some was poured and the bottle returned to the bar fridge. Sometimes it was hard to attract attention for a refill. An ice bucket would be a better idea. Touring the wineries in the area was an added bonus to staying at warrenmang.recommended and we will return
My partner and myself, had a wonderfully relaxing weekend away at the winery resort accommodation; which though a little dated was of a high standard and very clean..I only booked the restaurant for the first night, anticipating trying somewhere new on the Saturday night. The food and service was outstanding and Saturday night provided a similar experience. The breakfasts were cooked to perfection and what stroke of luck the local pub under new management did fantastic lunches. The walking tracks around the property and visits to nearby towns and wineries filled our days nicely. A beautiful area to visit and we were lucky enough to have Mr. Bazzini himself, to present his wonderful wines in the wine tasting ; to finish our days exploration off. WE were blown away with some of the friendliest staff we have ever encountered anywhere, and they truly help make this a very special weekend away.
We had a beautiful day to remember with Luigi, Athelie & Family in Warrenmang Vineyard last week, what a way to start 2013! We were treated to a beautiful array of wonderfully fresh produce and perfectly cooked raviolo, a lunch to savour and write home about!! Luigi's personal wine tour was a highlight, a man who clearly has so much passion (along with Athelie) which shows through in his lifetime of work and commitment. The staff are truly the best, they could not do enough for all of our guests and always a smile to greet us in the blistering heat!! Thank you again, we will be visiting soon and spreading the word that this famiy run winery is not to be missed. Thank you again for hosting the day which our overseas guests and we, will hold close to our hearts.
