This is a lovely little Botanical Gardens to wander through and doesn't take long but you can also stop for a picnic under the big leafy trees. Kids can run around or you can meander and look at the trees and plants on display.The centre piece is the lake and the bamboo adds to the theme. Outside the fenced gardens is more parkland for picnics also and right opposite Williamstown beach.

When you arrive head for the Ticktoc cafe on the front at any time of the day - their big breakfast is super and recommended any time of the day, lunch with many choices, or just drop by for a coffee and cake when cycling past. A real gem and the find among many eating places on the front.

Read the reviews and wholeheartedly agree that these gardens are great for outings and children and have the potential to provide so much more. Stately and beautiful but at the end of the day, just gardens.

The gardens are well kept , but nothing outstanding. Still a great area to picnic or spend a while. Plenty of parking roundabout, in a nice area.

Just love walking around these gardens in summer. I have been there for many weddings and the setting is just gorgeous. Great for a sunny day picnic or just to go to on a Saturday afternoon and watch all the brides.

For nearly forty years I have visited these gardens-very pretty and of course seasonally adjusted with different flowerings. My daughter married in these gardens just over 4 years ago-the day was perfect-28'C and the walk down the pathway to the gathering of family and friends was fantastic-I was so proud to give my daughter away jointly with her younger brother. There was a cascade of colour and everything was immaculate within the gardens. Family from England and New Zealand were enchanted with the venue. Thankyou to all the horticulturists and gardeners that keep this gem perfect.

The williamstown botanic gardens are a bit of a misnomer. There are nicely kept lawns that provide a good venue for weddings, but the plantings lack imagination. A botanic gardens should showcase the plant world and there's no effort to do that at all. Still, a nice quiet place to take the kids for a picnic.

Historic Williamstown Botanic Gardens are beautifully laid out with winding paths, big shady trees and soft green lawns. A perfect place to have a picnic. Plenty of parking available, or come by train to Williamstown Beach Station. The beach and children's playground only a couple of hundred metres across the way from the gardens. Over the years we have spent many happy days with family and friends.

It is a well kept garden, which is clean and there is a lot of shade for hot days. The cool breeze from the foreshore makes it a very comfortable place to relax.

This was a well tendered area with lots of seating and shady spots. Many families were enjoying picnics, (no BBQ's allowed) and people were sitting on rugs etc, playing guitars and just relaxing. It is a pleasant place with a cool breeze coming through the trees.It is a place to visit and walk and enjoy this excellent area

lovely gardens but being coastal, the plant variety seems limited. We walked around the park in less than 15 minutes but then we sat on the lawns under a huge tree and had a picnic.

A beautiful small garden to walk around, have a picnic, read a book or just relax in. Quite small in comparison to other Botanical Gardens but a beautiful spot all the same.

Pretty little Gem. These Gardens by the sea are frequently used in Television shoots, weddings and summertime outdoors theartre. Stroll through these gorgeous gardens and listen to the local bands playing when scheduled. Simply grab a book and blanket and enjoy this special place.

A gorgeous place for a leisurely walk. The stunning elm tree garden is a magical place for children to play. Just make sure there aren't any weddings to compete with. On axis with the garden is a lovely vista of the sea. A lovely park for a picnic.
