Recently my wife and I had the pleasure to spend an evening with John at his observatory. We found John to be very knowledgeable in explaining the cosmos and went out of his way to ensure we had the full experience of looking into the night sky through his impressive equipment. A great night and great value for money. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Between Kerang and Swan Hill in North Western Victoria sits the Lake Boga Observatory operated by John Campbell. The Observatory Night Tour is a "must do" opportunity to learn aboutthe universe, the planets and the birth of stars that light the night skies. Bookings are essential and the informative presentation coupled with the viewing of stars, planets and galaxies in a relaxed environment provided a unforgettable insight to the wonders of astronomy.

John, who runs the observatory, is one of the most knowlegible of astronomers and has the wonderful ability to make difficult concepts easily understandable. If you are in the Lake Boga or Swan Hill area, don't miss it.

A must do if you are in the Swan Hill area - have tea at the Lake Boga Pub then go on to the Observatory at Lake Boga. Very interesting and great education on the stars and planets, not to mention a great viewing as well. Also a lovely display of glass ware made by the owners too.Good idea to book in beforehand.

The Lake Boga Observatory was a great place to visit if you are interested in astronomy. John passionately shares his knowledge and experience with star gazing and there are a number of telescopes, of varying sizes, with which to view to stars. We had an interesting and fun evening, viewing stars, planets and galaxies.

What a fantastic experience!! I just spent a great night at the observatory with John and Marianne. I learnt so much about our solar system in a very fun and relaxed atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend this to all ages and if your passing through Lake Boga it is not to missed!

We were the only two people there that evening and it was a very clear sky. Travel during off season if you really want to spend more time. The host was really knowledgeable, friendly and willing to answer all sorts of astronomical questions in a simple manner.All in all, it was worth every dollar! A must see.

An interesting evening at the observatory. Saw some cool videos and an interactive program that gives you a great insight into the Planets, stars etc. John and Maryanne were excellent hosts and most informative. John makes some lovely glassware also at very reasonable prices. Was a little overcast but we still saw Jupiter, Orion and the moon in good detail. Recommended.

Wow! The skies are so clear at Lake Boga and the telescopes are fantastic. You can see the moons of Jupiter very clearly and the rings of Saturn. The Orion Nebulae was absolutely spectacular.There is a great planetarium session before it gets dark which was really interesting as well.A great night out that we and the kids really enjoyed.Great value!
