Went out king fishing with this joker, he took us to catch some live bait, we caught about 30 slimey's and used 2 for the whole trip. Well actually he used the 2, us paying customers were not allow to fish with live bait as he thought our lines would tangle. When I asked what was going to happen to the remainder of the slimey's I was informed that they were to be used for their charter of gummy shark fishing later that afternoon. So we basically paid him to catch his bait and wasted at least a third of our time fishing time. Anyway long story short the bloke is not there for the customer. If you read this Alex next time it might be a good idea to let your customers catch their own fish instead of snatching the rod of them like they are a 3 year old child. The only good thing about the trip was your deck hand and also throwing your live bait back in . Get a job driving a train or something where you don't have to deal with the public. And to the reader spend you're money elsewhere also we caught no kingfish not even a bite.

I was attracted to this charter outfit by their great website and their boat. Both are impressive. But that's where it starts and ends. The skipper and his boat were 15 mins late; after trying to convince us we might have better luck if we went after squid rather than snapper (and being convinced otherwise by all 8 passengers) it took us 90 minutes from the scheduled start of the charter until the time when we put lines in the water. The skipper - called Alex - was antisocial. He grunted, taking no interest in his passengers (each of whom had paid $150) at all. He made no attempt at conversation. His deckhand, Matt, was hard working and a bit more communicative. Unlike any other charter operator I have been with, Alex seemed to have no pre-scouted fishing spots - he'd simply drive his boat for ages until he found some "structure" that seemed to look like it might attract some snapper. And there we stayed, in the one spot, for literally hours. Alex mainly stayed in the cabin and seem bored by the fact that he had to go out to work that day. We did manage to get some small snapper, periodically, but there were numerous times we wondered why we weren't shifting to another spot but Alex seemed to think all we had to do was put our lines in a wait for the fish to run into them. Eventually we moved. That meant we pulled up our lines and the skipper just drove around in a massive circle for about 40 minutes searching for a spot that again looked like it might have some fish there. He had no clue! Eventually we pulled up and dropped our lines. It was hardly a "hot spot" for snapper, or any other fish, for that matter. But the worst and most worrying part of the charter occurred while we were at this second spot, when the poor deckhand, who had been working his butt off the entire time, was left in charge as the skipper went below deck to have a sleep! That's correct - I would say that's in breach of any code of conduct you could think of for a charter operator! It was literally unbelievable! This guy had been paid $1200 by 8 people who entrusted him with looking after their safety and working his backside off to put them onto great fishing spots. And this was how we were treated. The best thing is that I now know that I will never ever go out with Alex from Reeltime Fishing Charters again. Perhaps he ought to change the name of his business to "Waste of Time Fishing Charters"! He's an accident waiting to happen. And the icing in the cake: having caught the second biggest snapper that day, my fish was given, without any reference to me, to a person who had never been fishing before and who certainly didn't catch a fish anywhere near that size! Do not waste your money with this cowboy! There are far better charters available!

Paid $300 for my son and me to go out snapper fishing on Port Philip. Headed out from Carrum and after about 45 mins anchored for fist drop. Great sun rise was the only highlight.Six to eight rods were set up at back of the boat. Only the skipper and deck hand were allowed to uses these. They would hand over to paying customers once fish was hooked.Of eight customers, six get to use a rod with snapper snatches rigged. Some do well. Two customers, my son and I get to watch skipper and deck hand at back of the boat. We each get to handle a rod for may be five minutes of a five hour trip. Now that's what I call a rip off. I have been on many charters. Some are better that other. All are better than this mob!If you want to take home fish. Go to the market. If you want to go fishing, try another outfit. At least they will let you fish, and not just watch! Will not be back!

Just recently my family and I went on this , they didnt talk to us at all. I tried to ask a few questions and they didn't answer them or mumbled. They didn't teach us anything and most of the time they did the fishing and we watched . They just looked like they didn't want to be their and weren't interested . Overall it was terrible and a waste of 800 dollars !!!

We recently went on a charter with Reel Time Fishing Charters. We booked and paid for 2 charters on the same day, that was our second error, the first being booking with this company. Our first trip was to catch whiting and squid, there were about 10 passengers on board 2 ladies and 2children under 10 yrs old and the rest adult males. After only travelling for about 5 minutes the deckhand yelled out the "C" word shocking all the paying passengers. No apology was supplied by captain or crew. When we reached the first fishing spot the paying passengers were pushed off to the sides so that the captain and deckhand could fish from the best spots at the back. There was very little instructions or assistance given to the customers. Every now and then you would here the captain yelling out how he had just caught one or get some bait or hey you up there shake that burley bucket. It was a lot like we were out there for his enjoyment not ours. If you are looking to get lung cancer from 2nd hand smoke then this is the trip for you. The only smokers on board were the crew and they showed no consideration to anybody else, not even the children. The second charter was for a night time snapper fishing trip. Well this one should be called sit and watch the captain fish. He did all the fishing, some people got the opportunity to reel their rods in occasionally to check their baits but not very often. The crew member kept winging about how he had been up since early that morning because he had another job which he went to first then did the 2 charters as well so by the the time he got home he would of been awake for 24hrs. Surely there must be some kind of OH& S covering this. Had we not prepaid we would not of gone on this trip after doing the first one. There were some fish caught on the first trip but it would of been more enjoyable if some instruction had of been given, at least the deckhand gave his rod to the kids to wind in most times when he had hooked one. The captain was only interested in catching them himself.I would never fish with these guys again and we have been on several charters before, this would have to be the worst trip ever. The bathroom facilities were not adequate for mixed crew and one guy was told to hang on or use a bucket to empty his bowels because the toilet wouldn't handle it if he went.
