Very friendly helpful staff, only to happy to advise & recommend with out being pushy the shop is full of teapots great for the collector.
We go to the shop every time we visit Mt Dandenong. Japanese Morning Dew green tea with flower petals is addictive as well as Lapsang Souchong black tea smoked over pine to give it a wonderful smoky taste. I've bought Twinings Lapsang Souchong in packets at Coles before. It is expensive and is much cheaper to buy from TeaLeaves. I also buy teas from TeaLeaves website. I am very happy with transactions. The tea is delivered quickly, packed well and they also sent very nice personal message with postage details to my mobile phone. A nice personal touch telling me that they care. Very happy, thank you!
As soon as you walk in, the wonderful scent of tea leaves fills your nose. There are LOADS of tea pots so be careful where you step (it's easy to knock over pots' we didn't spend much time here but it was cool.
First visited in May 2014 and was keen to get back to replenish my supplies in person. Although they do online ordering I can easily while away an hour or more here just sniffing ! The teas are divine as is all the paraphernalia that goes with tea ... Cups, kettles, teapots and diffusers. Fir the coffee lovers there is even those moorish choc coated coffee beans & some really delish freckles. Highly recommend a visit here !
Enjoyed our stop there my Wallet took a hit but give yourself time to have a good look around and enjoy the store the staff are very helpfull Brought a new tea pot they have everything to do with Tea and I have never seen so many different teas
We always take overseas or interstate visitors to the Dandenong Ranges, and Tea Leaves is a must-visit when we do. Seldom walk away without a purchase. Even if you're not into tea or coffee, you can't miss the tea pots.
This tea shop simply took my breath away! It's very well-stocked with hundreds of varieties of tea such as black tea, green tea, herbal tea etc at a reasonable price tag. What got me really impressed is also the beautiful teapots and accessories on sale, which according to the sales staff, are imported from all over the world. If you love tea and teapots like me, you'll love this place!
If you're planning a trip to the Dandenong ranges, be sure to drive through Sassafras and Olinda and, on your way through, don't miss this little gem of a shop. The other reviewers say it all... a great variety of teas, tea pots and tea-related souvenirs. What some of the reviews don't mention is (1) the service is friendly, (2) there's plenty of advice, (3) great quality products and (4) at a price much more reasonable than the 'larger' tea franchises. Enjoy!
If you're in the Dandenong area, put Tea Leaves on your to do list. This shop is really true inspiration and a mecca for the tea connoisseur - and coffee to a lesser extent. A must see. an incredible collection of tea pots, cups, sets, and the range of tea for purchase is incredible. Similar to any T2 store that is sprouting up all around Australia, but Tea Leaves is heaps more genuine and interesting, and kudos to the owners.
This is a cute shop next to Mrs Marples in Sassafras and has a huge selection of teapots and tea. So much so that its daunting to choose. The sample jars of tea that allow you to smell the individual teas help to narrow down the selection and the loose tea is quite good value. Most surprising was the prices of the tea pots - which were extremely well priced. This business is well into social marketing and offers a free packet of tea when you take a picture in the shop and post it on their Facebook page. It also imporantly offers free wifi which may well just be the thing to bring the blokes inside instead of impatiently waiting outside for the girls. Staff were helpful however I couldnt help but note a bit of a sarcasstic attitude in several comments which I thought was unneccesary. You dont need to be a tea expert to find something nice in here as there are descriptions of the tea blends and purposes and teas are grouped according to type. One additon that may have added to the experience would have been a tea of the day tasting.
Even if your not a tea lover you must visit Tea Leaves. It's a fantastic, quirky little place. You will get a laugh & have a real giggle at the amount of the different types of tea pots they have & accessories. It's amazing! Truly a must do! I love it every time I go. You will not be disappointed.
Took my mum for Mothers Day. She loves teapots. There were hundreds of fantastic and unique teapots, cups, mugs, tea leaves, quirky wind chimes. If you want a different present for someone then this is the place to go.
Fantastic selection of tea and tea pots. Every type you can think off and others you never heard of or seen! I'm no connoisseur but it seems to have every variety of tea from around the world imported or derived in Oz. Traditional and contemporary- makes T2 look boring by comparison. Only negative is that it's a teeny tiny shop so only; well behaved kids, able bodied and smallish/average height & wide people can realistically enter. If you are tall and/or wide steer clear! The shop is too cramped to let everyone in without knocking stuff over (but you can try...he he). Maybe the shop needs an online shopping website so everyone can enjoy the etas or tea pots! Also, they did have selected teas available to test at the counter when I went which was nice. They also had samples to smell for most teas. I'll be back!
Tea Leaves is well worth driving to in order to shop for quality tea and coffee. They have many different flavours and types nestled within their walls in addition to their extensive range of quirky tea pots for sale. The store has quite the charm and the staff are always very helpful.
Amazing range of tea and teapots (and coffee for that matter). My wife the cake queen is also the queen of teas - her collections is legendary. She reckons that it's the best range of tea related stuff that you'll find anywhere
