I called in for a coffee as I was passing through Wangaratta. The coffee itself was good - very balanced flavours, but I was really disappointed in the poor attitude of the woman who served me. The cafe wasn't busy but it appeared that she was in a foul mood for some reason. It's an unfortunate reality that in hospitality each time you serve someone is a 'make or break' moment. I won't bother going back - there are many other good options (which is precisely why it's called a 'make or break' moment).
Have attended several performances etc at PAC, the venue is terrific! However the cafe was not open for coffee/drinks/snacks at the end of events - very disappointing. But.... on Melbourne cup day when Wangaratta has just hosted the premier jazz event in the country and many visitors stay on for cup day races in Wangaratta the cafe was the only place open for breakfast. It was delicious, staff were flat out but provided good service, impressed!
The WPAC is a relatively new builing, with one theatre, and you will get a good view from wherever you sit. the building is clean enough, and there is a cafe built into the building which is good.
My (biased) perspective is from the auditoria during the Jazz Festival. I could never understand why they built this new WPAC and reduced the seating!Generally good sight lines wherever you sit. Theatre floor is well raked; the Hall is NOT! Good disabled access. The Theatre is pleasing to look at (the Hall less so). Acoustics are very good in the Theatre. The Theatre lighting is stodgy and unimaginative and I wont mention the Hall in this respect.I would call this facility a centre of missed opportunities.
We saw two excellent shows here. The theatre is small and I think wherever you say you would have a good view. Our seats for one show were in the first row and it was not too close and we had the second row for the next show.
I've held a few meetings/seminars at the Wangaratta PAC and have always found it to be one of the better venues in regional Victoria. The cafe serves a good range of food and coffee.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Harrison Craig concert this week, as the sound balance was excellent and the lighting reasonably good (one spotlight kept flickering out). My only qualm was that we ordered coffee before the show in the bar, and it finally arrived just as they announced the show was about to start - we left our coffees to take our seats, then it was nearly a quarter of an hour before the show actually started! Otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars!
saw this show last night and was enjoyed by us. cast excellent , seats good , overall a great show. well done to everyone.
The staff are so helpful and they always have a great selection of shows. Often I'm surprised with some of the great shows they have on offer. Also a great venue for local shows. The box office has opening hours that I'm not totally sure of but give them a visit to see if theres anything you would be interested in!
Concert wonderful, but guests should be warned about the climb up stairs to seats in the balcony. They do warn you, but I still witnessed people struggling up the stairs with more 'able bodied' friends.
So fantastic to have such a quality venue, entertainment and staff in regional Victoria. A great variety of entertainment and multipurpose rooms/spaces or conferences and/or private gatherings.
The coffee shop was average, cake selection very bland and the servings was small..the coffee shop was very clean, but the floor boards make it very noisy
we have been there several times and loved it ,but w3hen the council put on seniors week, not only was normie rowie outstandind ,so were the staff ,they way they cared for a catered for the edlerly was second to none ,there manager needs to take a bow
The theatre is designed well and allows good viewing from all areas. Comfy seats, good sound. A great venue to attend performances of all types in Wangaratta.
I travel through Wangaratta on a Saturday, staying overnight in a local motel. I like to wander down to see the current exhibition and have a coffee around 3pm. Some Saturday afternoons the coffee shop is open and others it is closed. When it is open I enjoy the coffee and enjoy the break after the walk from the motel.
