Hi ebanc66,thanks for your review - it is really good to hear that your enjoyed your trip so much. The Kimberley Aviation tour taking in a scenic flight over the Horizontal Falls and the spectacular coast, landing at Cygnet Bay for the Giant Tides and Pearl Farm tour is certainly a big day but such a great opportunity to take in the best of the Kimberley Coast. All of our staff are really passionate about what we have to offer at Cygnet Bay and I will be sure to pass your comments along to them. We would love to welcome you back to the farm on your next Kimberley trip!Kind regards,Paula
Hi ChloeBon,thank you for taking the time to visit and review the farm, and we are really looking forward to seeing your book!As you know from your visit, there is a lot to experience while you are at Cygnet Bay, from learning why Australian South Sea Pearls are some of the finest in the world, saying g'day to the local wildlife, sampling the cuisine at the restaurant, and heading out on the water to see the farm and the world's largest tropical tides! The accommodation is set just under 1km from the farm village and reception area, which we feel gives our guests a more tranquil experience - plus there is a range of accommodation to choose from - the mini-Safari tents you stayed in, camping, our en-suite safari tents and the pearler's shacks. Hopefully we will see you for a return visit!Kind regards,Paula
Hi Bojangles1954,thank you for taking the time to review Cygnet Bay - we are glad you decided to drop in! We have a lot to offer our visitors, with tours, pearls and the restaurant for our day visitors and safari tent and camping accommodation. If you do get a chance to come back to the area, come and explore!Kind regards,Paula
Thanks for your review SA1009,We're glad to hear that you found your tour guide to be excellent and informative, but sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the overall experience of your tour. It may interest you to hear that the pearl farm tour has undergone some changes since your visit, with a new video clip, revised content and insight into our pearl shell hatchery, where we grow our own pearl shell. Feedback from our customers was very important to us when making these changes. As a commercially operating pearl farm, we aim to give our guests the benefit of our expertise and an insight into the workings of a pearl farm. As you will appreciate however, it's not possible to allow free access to all areas, particularly when our pearl technicians are doing delicate operations on the shell in a sterile environment during the harvest. In our Broome showroom we do have a daily (and free!) pearl harvest display, and this is the only place in Broome where you can see an experienced Australian pearl technician perform an operation on the shell as it is done in the industry. We are the only commercially operating pearl farm open to the public, but it is good you also had a chance to visit the tourism display at Willie Creek. We hope that if you come back to Broome you will pop into Cygnet Bay to enjoy the changes! Kind regards,Paula
Hi CJ_from_WA_OK,feedback from our guests is extremely important to us and we are sorry you were disappointed in your land based pearl farm tour. As you will know from the tour, the majority of a pearl farm's activities take place on the water where the shell is living, and activities on land vary throughout the year. In fact, we are the only pearl farm in the area with a land base that people can visit - other farms are serviced by crew on long trips to the remote pearl farm sites. The opening of our new pearl shell hatchery this year has given us a great opportunity to revisit the tour, and depending on activities at the hatchery, groups now also get an insight into how we grow our own shell. We now use a new video clip as part of the tour, and are continuing to refine the content, with your feedback taken into account as part of this process. We think that $27 per adult is a reasonable price and very comparable to other offerings. For families, our family ticket offers value. The Pearl Farm Patrol boat tour does offer the chance to head out on the water for a trip around the bay and to see the farm activities on the water.Kind regards,Paula
Thanks for the review 091380!To hear that your Giant Tides Tour was a world highlight is certainly gratifying, and we are passionate about showing our guests this remarkable phenomenon in such a beautiful location. April was a bit too early for our restaurant to open, but we are glad that the cafe food was to your liking. All the best from Broome!Kind regards,Paula
Thank you for your review Michelejj,A scenic flight over the Horizontal Falls to Cape Leveque and Cygnet Bay with Kimberley Aviation has to be one of the best day trip options from Broome, and we are really glad to hear you had such a great day. If you make it back to Broome, come up to Cygnet Bay and stay a while longer!Kind regards,Paula
Hi Carolyn O,it's great to hear you took away a Cygnet Bay pearl as well as some new knowledge about the pearling industry from your tour! We hope you enjoy wearing your necklace for many years to come. Thank you for posting a review,Kind regards,Paula
Hi RobertKaren, many thanks for your review of our pearl farm tour. We are very passionate about sharing our knowledge of pearling farming, as well as the family history of this farm so we are glad you enjoyed your time here - and you are definitely right - it is a very hard job cleaning all of those shell!Kind regards,Paula
Well worth a visit. We flew in on a Kimberley Aviation safari (which was fantastic). Did the fast boat tour of the Buccaneer Archipelago. Breathtaking beauty and a real adrenalin rush. Skipped across whirlpools and saw tidal reef waterfalls. Excellent hosts on your and delicious lunch. Well worth the effort of visiting.
This Gem has to be one of the best destinations on the way up to Cape Leveque. The food here is 5 star, table settings outside under some magnificent trees.Staff are so friendly. The pearl tour and shop attached is well worth a look. You can take a short walk to the lookout and just take in the spectacular blue waters in front of you.
The boat tour of the giant tides was totally amazing. We had such fun. Our skipper, Scott, although only young was so enthusiastic & we felt very safe with him. We also must mention Amy (I hope I remember the name right). She was just amazing right from our first phone contact to collecting our life jackets at the end of the tour. Cygnet Bay should be very proud of these two staff members.
