If you can do not stop here.ordered food drink and cream tea. Food came first after about 40 minutes even then did not have what was ordered.then some drinks came about 15 mins later after asking 3 times then got the cream tea( with extra scone) the service was appalling will def not go again which U.S. a shame as could be so much better
Disappointing visit to the Tearooms. Service was slow, staff seen smoking out front and loud dance music was blaring out the kitchen.....not what I wanted when trying to impress visitors to the area! Sorry but won't be visiting again.
We went out there to have a look around and a bit to eat. The actual Complex is great, with lots of History. But if you want to be served for a cuppa and food we suggest to go to the Dome or Muffin Break back at the Shopping Centre. We stood for five minutes waiting to be served, calling out knocking on the counter. So after five minutes it was time to move on.
The historic town of Pinjarra was established in 1834 on the banks of the River Murray and there is a suggested walk available (take your pick, 30 minutes and 40 minutes) which takes you to many of the heritage buildings. A full guide and information is available in a booklet called Pathways to Past, a project spearheaded by the Rotary Club in association with Peel Development Commission and others. Arts and Crafts, quilting and art are on display and for sale in some of the buildings. There is also the 1863 church, which may be the 5th oldest in WA, a churchyard where some of the region's earliest pioneers and settlers are buried, and the Heritage Rose garden which features c. 380 types of rose, the oldest variety dating back to 3000 BC. An interesting walk and an opportunity to buy lovely quilts, artwork and other craftwork.
Interesting complex of historic buildings, now used as a craft centre and cafe. The rose garden was sparse after a very dry summer.
as a group we meet here 1/2 times a year. In spring out in the fresh air, in cooler months, inside in one of the cozy rooms that are available . NICE fare.
We returned to Edenvale after visiting there 10 years ago when we enjoyed a wonderful Devonshire tea in the courtyard in historic surrounds. We didn't get past trying to order this visit! A busy spring day meant supplies were low and substitutions (apart from those suggested by the cashier) were not on the agenda. Front of house with hospitality training and some PR skills, especially in a small country town that I am sure is happy to have the tourism, wouldn't have gone astray. We ended up enjoying the spoils at the award winning Pinjarra Bakery just down the road. Such a shame ...hope our next visit to Edenvale is a better experience.
We stopped in for morning tea and had some great scones, must be good when no one wants to share. The meals are home made, and the tea/coffee are good. We enjoyed sitting out in the courtyard. The craft area was nice and the museum looked interesting. It is not fast food or service but nice and friendly.
After visiting Peel Zoo and Redcliffe on the Murray restaurant we travelled a few kms to Pinjarra to enjoy the Heritage trial and Edenvale Heritage Complex. The information centre is also situated here and we were given maps, information and print outs of both the complex and Pinjarra. We visited the Craft Cottage and watched locals making beautiful quilts. We visited the museum full of car and farm engines and other mechanical parts. Good for people who like anything auto! The Art Gallery is full of interesting painting and ceramics. We took the Heritage Trail past the quaint church and under the bridge to the suspension bridge. The weather was sunny and warm for June, a most pleasant walk. We finished our journey with scones with jam and cream and coffee at the Heritage Tea Rooms. Excellent.
Definitely worth a visit. Browse through the old house then enjoy a fabulous devonshire tea from the cafe. Relax on the verandah or in the shaded courtyard with your cuppa. Just lovely! Afterwards explore the machinery shed and outbuildings.
We stumbled across this attraction by accident as it has parking for cars towing caravans, which was fortunate as we really enjoyed looking around. The machinery shed was excellent with a great collection of items and a volunteer there to talk you through and even start up some of the engines for you. In the craft building the ladies were doing lead lighting which was really interesting to watch, and they were happy to have questions and show us what they were doing. The craft shop was great and extremely reasonably priced, I think all products for sale were local artists. The quilters shop was great and the lady there had some interesting things to tell us. The rose garden was a little worse for wear and in need of some TLC but overall we really enjoyed looking around and learning about the history of the complex and Pinjarra region. We would definitely come back again.
