This was a very nice and clean beach. We were very impressed with the way it appears that Manta really cares about tourists. We also spent some time across form this beach strolling around a park. People and families were all around and seemed to be enjoyed their time. They were very friendly. We even met an Ex Pat who told us how nice it was to live there.

Really nice beach. A little windy but I enjoyed it a lot! Rent a chair and take some beers. Be careful with the sun.

Close restaurants to the beach are great plus in this place. Bathrooms are a little far for a beachgoer

It is not the best beach of Ecuador but it's fine to spend a nice day. I found the beach and the ocean really clean and not so many people which is really good to take some pictures. You can take a half hour boat ride for 3 dollars and have a coconut for 2 dollars.

Not super clean, specially the ocean. However, just a few minutes from Playa Murciélago there are some great places and other beautiful playas.

It is one of the few beaches in Ecuador. One cannot be picky. The restaurants nearby are OK, more is not to say

In playa el Murcielago you'll find warm ocean. Nice lancha tours at reasonable price where you can see the blue footed birdy that comes from Galapagos island. You can also enjoy the snorkeling and see very colorful fishes and underwater life creatures. It's a great experience. It's right in front of the oro verde hotel with easy access to and from the beach. Here you can also find various huts serving fresh foods. The ceviche with a cold bear at the ocean breeze is my best thing here.

We found Playa el Murcielago a very crowded, touristy, and slightly cheesy beach. The sand on the beach is more dirt than sand and there seemed to be rubbish everywhere. It is so commercialised as well with all the restaurants and the hundreds of street hawkers trying to sell you their wares. I prefer beaches that are a lot quieter.

This is the "go to" beach and restaurant area for locals and visitors alike. Locals visit one of the 20 restaurants along the beach to celebrate and party. Singles, couples or groups will feel right at home. The beach, the weather, the fresh seafood and the view are all you could ask for. If you are a visitor and would like to meet locals and expats they are at Los Vellas and El Galleon Restaurant every Saturday from 1:30 PM til ???. Stop by and have a cold beer, delicious seafood and join in a game of Bacchic Ball if you are interested. And, you will usually find some expats having a cold Pilisner beer most any day. See you on the beach!

Looking for a place for 6 friends to have lunch, we wandered around Murcielago checking out all the places on the beach. Finally settled on Las Velas, due to their comfy chairs. The food.....everything was great.

En Manta se puede disfrutar de excelente comida típica especialmente los maricos y pescados en general toda la comida de las cabañas en la playa del Murcielago son buenas, por favor no se olviden de comer camotillo, excelente

Soy tan duro porque en varias páginas la vi como una de las mejores playas de Ecuador y les juro que ni en chiste. Es una playa de ciudad, por lo tanto es sucia. El servicio de sombrillas y reposeras está todo amontonado, hay mucho viento, no venden tragos. . . un fiasco. No vayan a Manta si es por esta playa, no lo vale.

Buenos sitios para comer en la playa kioskos de souvernir en la orilla de la playa murcielago con detalles muy bonitos para regalar.

Me encanta ir los domingos a comer al Murciélago, existe una variedad de restaurantes que ofrecen todo tipo de mariscos. De lunes a viernes suelo trotar en las mañanas, no hay nada mejor para empezar bien el día.
