El Tesoro is an imposing sight, a large rectangular mall with several open courts and even a jungle valley with zipline, trampolines, Ferris wheel and train rides for the kids. From several of the connecting walkways you get breathtaking views of the city. But the mall management needs to learn a few tricks from the Santa Fe mall just down the hill. First, they should upgrade the in-mall seating to leather couches and chairs in little clusters. This really helps keep the guys happy while their ladies are spending money in the trendy high-end shops. I did find a few great leather couches in the open breezeways between sections on the upper levels, but they were a fair distance from most stores. So were the nice couches around a table with flowers on it, at the exit from the parkade.But...oops! The great free WiFi you would expect in such a ritzy establishment is not there. They have a few free WiFi hotspots around the place, but I was unable to get good coverage in about half of the mall. For example, Tesoro Norte router would not even let me sign on, probably because it was not properly connected to the internet. Other free ones seemed to be unconnected as well. At Santa Fe mall you get fast wall-to-wall WiFi once you set up a free account. To their credit, Juan Valdez coffee shop had good WiFi service (and a good mocha latte to go with it).One more strange feature of El Tesoro still has me baffled: Where is the ENTRANCE for people who arrive there by bus? We got off the 134i bus (from Poblado Metro station) right outside the Event Center door, and went up the elevator to find the shopping floors. We went back home the same way, after failing to see a better option. But our search was not entirely in vain. As we meandered we found an out-of-the-way pool hall with card gambling tables and a bar. Both outer walls of the place were floor-to-ceiling glass that could be opened, with full city views.Just above the pool hall was a furnishing store with very cool glass vases that seemed to be melted into place over branches of dried trees that held them. Beside that was the first automobile dealership I have seen in a mall parkade. Seems like a good idea, when you think about it. Every stall in the multi-floor parkade had a light above it: red if occupied, green if free, and blue if reserved for the handicapped. The system also told you how many free spaces there were on each floor, saving you time. The mall's vast size and unusual layout might be a negative for some folks. We found an interactive map/info system on a large LG monitor touch screen. When it showed us the maps of all the levels we felt just as confused as before. All in all, it was an interesting place to visit. But Santa Fe Mall is far more homey, organized and likely to get our future business.
Beautiful High end mall, with so much selection for shopping, eating , and kids can have fun too, clean great service , not cheap
If you like high end shopping this is the place. All major brand names are well represented. If you're looking for deals/bargains, forget it. The prices/varieties are the same like back home, personally I don't see the advantage of buying here. They have an excellent selection of what to eat at the their food courts and if you have small children, they will love an amusement park built right into the premise
Fantastic mall, beautifully decorated for Christmas, and perched on a mountain, boasting beautiful views of Medellin, especially at night. The mall was beautifully decorated for Christmas. While we were there we watched a singing Christmas show in the middle of the mall and saw several costumed rain deers walking around to take pictures with kids. The mall offers a wide variety of stores, including many brands not common or present in the USA. This made for more entertaining browsing and shopping. There is a large selection of food option, from fast food to upscale restaurants, dispersed throughout the mall. We had dinner at a Colombian chain restaurant and had a fantastic experience. Lastly, the mall offers many activities for kids, including a mini amusement park on the third floor, with literally a wave pool, mini hockey rink, zip lining, arcade, water balloon fight arena, and a giant themed restaurant. We definitely recommend this mall. So far it is the best mall we have ever visited. It's a complete experience!
All sorts of good stuff, food, children's activities, shopping. Nice and clean and bright. Great one stop place for whatever u are looking for.
I love this mall I have to stay you have everything in one location this mall has everything, all the stores and restaurants. For kids plenty of stuff to do.
Not only did this mall have the best view I have ever seen, but they have comfy leather couches throughout for you to take a break from shopping. They also have great stores and a ton of them.
I am not a big shopper, but this is not just a shopping mall. It is positioned at the top of one of the mountains surround Medellin, so you get incredible views of the city. It is a great place to take a date and spend an evening. If you are into shopping, this is as high end as it gets and the price tags will reflect that!
if you are into huge shopping malls and especially one where all the rich people go then that's the place to be. if you are interested in getting in touch with local people go there on thursday but not on the weekend cause then everyone who can is out of town!!un abrazogregor
This is one of the largest shopping malls of Medellin, located in one of the most esclusive areas of the El Poblado highs, you gonna find all kind of stores and things to do in this place, show case cinemas, play grounds, etc
When I was in Medellin, which is very often.. I go here a lot, the shopping is good, the mall is clean and the food is good, with lots of choices..
The best mall in Medellin, you can find everything you need, the best line of clothing, diversity of food and services. There is also an exchange.
