Cayo Bolivar is certainly one of the prettiest places I've ever been. The ride there is a bit scary, lots of waves, look for a calm day, with little wind, otherwise you might experience unnecessary emotions. Take a looot of sunscreen, there's almost no shadows at the beach. the food is simple but delicious, but you cant buy anything there.
If you are planning a trip to San Andres Island, you definitely have to save a day to visit Cayo Bolivar. You can book the tour in the main marina for 80 dollars approx. that includes the ride in an uncovered boat (very bumpy ride) for 1 hour, lunch (an amazing fish with coconut rice and fried banana) and beverages. You have to take a lot of sunscreen and a hat, because there are very few places with shadow. The island is stunning; you can find 2 km of white sand and turquoise waters. Simply mind-blowing if you are looking for a very relax day in paradise.
A virgin island surrounded by a tourquise sea; full of palm trees; and white sand.Magic place to visit!!
Beautiful beaches and the people very frendly, the food is delicious,if you like this is the place especial FRANCHESCA Restaurant the food is exelet and delicious and the beach is espectacular you can estay there all day.
It's a small and quiet island in the middle of Caribbean Sea. There are no bars, restaurants or anything, so it's perfect for those who want to relax and enjoy the nature. To get there, you pay about 180.000 COP (U$ 100) and the boat leaves around 8 a.m. The beverages and the lunch (fish, rice and salad) are included.
This place really a paradise, but to go there is a really adventure, is 20 miles from San Andres, the service is in a open boat with means sun and water on the face for 2h (1h to go and 1h to back). When arrive at the island will see a island without any type of infrastructure, so to go to the bathroom.... And the offer the service with one lunch there if is totally out of necessity, if the trip was shorter will be much better, but, go at 8:30 and back at 3:30... If you don't have problems to stay expose to the sun for 7h and "lunch a fish" go see a beautiful place before be to late!
The place is so beautiful, if you like beach and nature, you have to go there. But it's 1h of motorboat and people can get sea sick.
If you want to visit a real Bounty Island Cayo Bolivar is the place. The Beach is wonderful. We went snokeling as well but there was not much to see.
Tour provided by receptour, it is a lovely place for a couple of hours however after 6 hours it does get rather boring.
The place is amazing. Very quiet, calm, extremely beautiful. It's a true paradise. Food was prepared and served on the island by boat owners and tasted really good. Recommended for people looking for peace and untouched nature.
