We killed some time here and it was very nice. If you're in San Gil anyway, you're probably on your way to somewhere better for this kind of thing e.g. Parque Tayrona. But if not pop along - lovely plantlife, a few wacky animals (chance of monkeys) and butterflies. Watch out for slippery paths! For more travel tips in San Gil, check out our blog: https://ednaventures.wordpress.com/2014/10/28/san-gil-was-up-and-down/
I enjoyed the place it is very natural....nice for pictures and animals....the best place for relax....nice wheater
This is a lovely little park, worth a little stroll. I think it will be amazing when they are finished working on it. It's more than I would expect to find in Colombia.
You do not expect a huge building just behind a river....it supposed to be a place were nature is the main attraction and it is not.The toilets are incredible hard to find (misleading signs), no souvenirs at all ( it could be a great idea to get more money) beside a coffee mugg. The manager could do much better for this place, and also local authorities.Quite disappointing.
What could be a very rewarding botanical experience is let down by poor maintenance and lack of investment. The quality and quantity of plants, flowers etc was very poor for such a magnicent situation
I truly loved my time at this attraction! For only $2.50 could wander around this beautiful park seeing giant trees and ferns. The place has several little streams flowing though it for more paradise-like ambiance. I wanted to take my clothes off and really be with nature, but I decided against it.... lol
The park is very nice, relaxing and well-preserved. The are also some animals to see. It's possible to order a coffee inside.
Love this park !!! The trees are beautiful.... and you can stay in a peaceful place like that for hours...
Worth a look for an hour maximum. Nice for a wander adjacent to the river. Some bird life but nothing spectacular. Ongoing replacement of several pathways during our recent visit.
The entrance fee is not bad (5.000 pesos por person) and the park is really beautifull.... am,azing and huge tree, free animals all around, you can walk up until the river... totally reccomended!
After paying 5,000 pesos each for admission to this park (children are 3,000), I assumed that it would be in better condition and/or have something that is truly interesting. We spent about an hour here walking around the paved path along the impressive Fonce River. With an admission price I would expect that that play equipment isn't left to go rotten and that the sad broken down cage of rather epic proportions should be either looking good or ripped down. The Lonely Planet gives the drawcard here of seeing trees with long fronds of a grey moss hanging down but you can see this for free on the walk from Barichara to Guane and get much prettier nature in the nearby towns. If I put a positive spin on it, you could mistake the still, decaying park as something magical out of a Gabriel Garcia Marquez story.
This is a nature park, a lot of birds, big river, gorgeous trees and a Well maintained path. Walking around with our family was great! I can imagine that you find this park boring when you seek hiking trails!
The park has a great affordable restaurant with the best ambiance in San Gil. The restaurant isn't listed in the Restaurant section so unable to post a review there.
Not worth the money paid to get in. Its quite a nice place to have a quick walk around, but I dont think they should charge you to get it at all, especially what we paid.
Although the park is beautiful, it doesn't seem to be well kept. Fun to go and walk around for a few hours, but it is a little pricey.
