This is a great Ship to visit. The Museum is excellent with good explanations in English. If you have been to the USS Constitution Ship in Boston, then you can relate to how wonderful it is to be allowed to climb around and explore all facets of this historical wonder. There is a "motion" room where you can feel just what it was like to be stuck in the bowels of the ship with the cannons blasting.

Very nice and interactiv exhibitions. All part/cabins of ship is available. Big souvenir shop.And free parking place

This resurrected mid-1800s wooden war ship is worth a visit. It is huge. The restored ship and museum provide a wonderful history lesson.

Great museum for adults and kids. Quite good interesting activities on the ship and the shipyard. Funny triyng being a sailor and learning a lot about this wooden ship and how life was on board. Good value.

Fantastic old war ship and very well restored. Great for the kids, and the tour guides are excelent and the stories are very interesting.

As we were staying in an apartment that directly overlooked the boat, it would have been hard not to have visited. You enter the site through a modern purpose built facility, and given a map to find you way around. The building tells the history of the boat from being built, its naval service, its use as a Royal ship, to its decommisioning and then restoration. It has a timeline around the building that is easy to follow, and is in several different languages so all visitors can follow. Very interesting to read comments from actual people who lived and worked on the boat, itgave you a real insight to life on board. Several interative exhibits that you could take part in as well. The only hard part was finding how to get to ship itself not well signposted, at one point we thought you couldn't go on the boat!So glad that we didn't miss that treat, it was amazing ! It has been restored to a high level and gong down all the floors you began to feel like a sailor. Each room is numbered and you have an easy to follow guide telling you about what the room was used for. Amazing to go through all the floors and individual rooms, right down into the engine room, and even underneath the boat itself in the dry dock. The only thing that would have been the icing on the cake would have been a chance to climb the rigging, but I guess H & S would put pay to that, although there was a small childrens climbing frame outside based on naval rigging. You can then walk aorund the boat yard to see where the restorers are working and walk along the embankment and look out to see. They also have a small gift shop selling boat and sailing related gifts. Great way to spend a few hours, There is a restaurant next door for food & refreshments although a little expensive. I am not into boats or sailing, although I love history and it was fasinating.

Fregatten (Frigate) "Jylland" is a magnificent example of 19th, century shipbuilding skills and a monument to the brave souls who manned her. An interesting combination of 'old fashioned' sail with 'new fangled' steam power, the ship did sterling service initially as an effective warship for the Danish Royal Navy.then later as a 'Royal Yacht' for the Danish Royal Family. Launched in 1860 it was the fastest ship in the navy, a 'state of the art' craft with a crew of over 400 men and armed with 40 cannon.In the famous Battle of Heligoland in 1864 it was one of two frigates and a corvette forming the Danish squadron against two Austrian frigates and two Prussian gunboats. After a two hour battle the enemy were forced to flee and the squadron returned victorious to Denmark. 10 years later, in 1874 the Jylland was renovated and became the Royal Yacht for King Christian IX and, over the years, has carried many members of the Danish Royal Family to many countries around the globe.Much later, from 1936 to 1959 it served as a 'holiday hotel' for children in Copenhagen apart from the 1939-1945 German occupation. In 1960 it came to Ebeltoft in a somewhat sorry state but was renovated yet again to her former glory by 1994. The museum is very interesting and naturally focuses on the sea battle of 1864. The ship itself is magnificent with free access to all areas and really brings it home how life was lived and lost in bygone days. Allow several hours for your visit to this World Ship Trust attraction that is not to be missed. Suitable for all ages, especially children. Put your fingers in your ears if they fire one of the cannons!!!

Jylland fregat is one of the best ship museums I have ever been. Interactive (you can fight your own sea battle!) and impressive exhibition. You can enter all levels/rooms of the old ship and imagine how things were when the ship was actually in use. Wax-figures are hidden in many rooms. It is a pretty cool exhibition - both for kids and adults.

This is a good museum, but not very large. There is an indoor exhibition with facts about the ship. Very little multimedia, more old school posters etc. The ship itself is in excellent condition and you are allowed everywhere.

The ship is on shore but you feel at sea when visiting as the ship is located right at the waterfront in Ebeltoft Harbour. The interior and the outside is kept at original and genuine as possible and gives a good view of how a ship from that time worked and was used.

Had a short trip to Ebeltoft. The town itself was catered for more senior citizens. Had an excellent dinner at the restaurant of this museum. It was great value for money. Everyone spoke English and the views of the harbor were outstanding. A definate must do in Ebeltoft!

This warship is one of the fine ships from the period of the Danish wars with England in 19th Century that fought against Sir Admiral Nelson. Although this specific one only participated in the Battle of Helgoland.

Fregatten Jylland (the frigate Jylland) is the world's largest remaining wooden ship, and is a beautiful and breathtaking experience. Well adapted to both children and adults, with the restored ship itself, the musem, the exhibitions and information on board, and the canon shows. A super glimpse of dramatic history!
