This September were lucky to have a ride on a boat - the weather was perfect, the meal was great and the crew was absolutely fantastic. All the pictures were taken between 5pm - 8.30pm, while we were leaving the harbour, passing under the bridge , staying at the anchorage, coming back etc.
Could be closed due to the wind and there are no any kind of point to go there, except old naval gun encampment at the island
See the great bridge and the brand new university on the Island.Worth the time, will blow you away.
It's a bridge, to an island. A big and impressive one. But it's only a bridge so it's not that exciting.
During our tour of Vladivostok we were able to see the many bridges from many angles (one of our tour group remarked that Vladivostok felt like San Francisco with its hills, bridges and bays). The bridge to Russky Island was particularly lovely. The view from a windy hillside was the best.
Impressive civil engineering constructive work perfeclty embedded in the landscape connecting the University Campus on Russky Island with the mainland
Here, as in the joke about Effel’s tower: it is beautiful only when you are not on. If you go over the bridge by car, you will not have time enough to enjoy the view. But when you walk around the city, from many of the places you can enjoy how this bridge has upgrated the picturesque panorama of the city.
You have to see the bridge, because the view from the bridge is spectacular! You may either take a bus #15 (29, 74, 22) or go by car.
Russky Island bridge is one of the most prominent features of the Vladivostok region. The bridge connects Vladivostok to Russky Island and the brand new campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. You need permission to visit the University but it too is well worth the time. The view of the City of Vladivostok from the university is amazing. Lights on the bridge at night can be seen from downtown if you are up on the hill (Hotel Hyundai area).
Longest cable-stayed bridge in the world so that one was enough for me. Quite a thing to look at from all sides, far and near. Even crossing is is awe inspiring. Illumination during the night also has to be seen. The good thing is that you can see it from far away and the other side of the bay in the town also. The view from the bridge is also amazing, you can see the open see towards Japan, the strait leading to Vladivostok and the bay itself. Also there are some Russian submarines docked near the bridge so have a look at the Pacific fleet!Underneath both sides of the bridge there are old pre WW I forts guarding the Bosphorus of the East with the one on the Island side renovated. Both are worth visiting. And since it makes Voroshilov battery and everything on the Russky island accessible by car I can't say anything against it!Since this bridge along with the other one, a lot of roads, the airport, most of the Russky island were built for the summit of 2012 I imagine I would've seen a different Vladivostok if I came here 2 years ago. So it can be regarded of a symbol of Russian progress in the East.
Beautiful and majestic bridge. Surprisingly, there are still people in the world who build, not destroy ...
well, the bridge is nice, although dont expect too much. the best time to take a ride across it is during the summer, on a sunny day, when the sky is clear and blue, although it is rare in Vladivostok. the bridge is long enough and driving across, you can enjoy seaside scenery of the city center. but i guess that is all...as i said, dont expect too much.
To travel over this bridge is worth it just for the sheer aesthetics and the views of Vladivostok. It's the tallest suspension pylon bridge in the world at 326metres. It also makes a great backdrop for several photographic opportunities. Well worth seeing.
The grandiose panorama of the record in the world practice cable-stayed bridge (length-1104, height-29.5 meters), who joined Vladivostok city and Russky island, was fascinating even at the stage of construction. From the height of bird flight you can see wonderful combination of beauty of Eastern Bosphorus channel, created by nature, and the unique building created by man. This bridge is impressive exactly like construction, it gives the city a special flavor. It’s especially amazing to look on floating in the sea on a boat or a ferry. Night is special time – the bridge is full of lights. Over this bridge you can quickly get to Russky island and back. In addition, Russky bridge is the only bridge in the world, which stays are painted in the colors of the national flag.
This is Vladivostok's latest pride and joy, and was built in time for the city's hosting of the APEC Summit in 2012. It's the tallest suspension bridge pylon in the world at 326metres and the longest non-supportive spen section in the world at 1.1 kms.
