A note here. I am prejudicial toward Krk and to Vrbnik as long departed relatives were born and lived on the island. So, visiting with friends in the summer of 2014, it was great to see that my prejudice was agreed upon as valid as all enjoyed the (all too short) visit to this beautiful little town. Streets are narrow, so best to park your car at the public parking areas on the edge of town. Wear comfortable walking shoes and be ESPECIALLY CAREFUL that the soles are "grippy" no slippery. The stone streets are beautifully clean and white...and easy to take a tumble on as they can be steep. For a a small town, there are a lot of restaurants with excellent views. Be sure to park yourself for a few hours at one with a view as no conversation is needed as your eyes take in the town, the Adriatic, and the coast. We ended up at a small wine store (which name I cannot remember and no Internet search will find) that offered Vrbnik and Krk wines (Vrbnička žlahtina and Istrian Malvazija) as well as some Krk pršut (Prosciutto). Toward the back of the store, there was a skinny balcony with 3 small tables and chairs. Six of us crowded into a corner, ordered a few bottles of the Vrbnička žlahtina, a large plate of Krk pršut and Paski sir, sprinkled with the local olive oil, and proceeded to enjoy one of those magic moments on a trip where you're experiencing perfection....Just wish I could remember the name of that place... Check out the pictures; there's a red pršut cutting machine right in the doorway. Can't miss it..and you would not want to miss Vrbnik if you happen to be cruising about Krk.

Very cute village on Krk Island, full of wonderful views over the sea, with houses on the cliffs and crystal-clear blue water. There were quite a lot of tourists, of course, but the place was not overcrowded. We enjoyed walking in narrow, old quiet streets. Very relaxing. There are couple of small shops where you can buy home-made jams, honey, olive oil and also very good wineries, where you can get a wine to taste. Beach here is quite small, but was not full (August). For me, this village was the nicest place in Krk.

Vrbnik is very worth paying a visit. Parking is limited so be patience if you don't find a spot right away and pay your ticket, police does check the parking

Vrbnik is the most cosy small old town in Krk island and definitely a place to visit. You'll find small, narrow streets and stunning view from the cliff. If you want good wine, it can be found here.

Beautiful old town, stunning sea view from the rocks. The beach is not comfortable as is full of stones and over crowded, but water looks clean. Nice wines are served to accompany the great view

Lovely little town with wineries and lovely views overlooking the sea. Hilly cobblestone streets. Great for a few hours stop over, very picturesque. Visited the Nada winery and had a nice glass of their white wine, highly recommended!

We visited for wine tasting and a good lunch was included on an optional trip. Excellent value for money.

Nice little town on cliff, looking towards mainland of Croatia. Very dramatic scene of sea waves breaking on cliffs. Couple of beach, very beautiful but that's the one downfall that it only has 2 tiny beaches. Few nice winery, few cafés and couple of wine tasting places. Although parking is problem I must say. We stayed in Krk and drove to here to see the town. It was worth to take a stroll on small streets of this town.

I like visiting places with few tourists and "hidden" things to do and see. Vrbnik was pretty much what I was expecting although the only disappointments were that the "souvenier" shops all seemed to sell the same thing, slightly unfair comment perhaps but I would have expected a bit more diversity. We both enjoyed wandering around the streets including the narrowest street in the world. The countryside and scenery generally were pretty find and not so many tourists even in August. Enjoyed walking around the narrow winding streets and finding interesting things to see and do. Nice views, much more rugged than other parts of Krk. Girlfriend liked the shop where she bought the honey brandy with free tasters... Don't go here if you like sandy beaches since they are not... Only problems were not specifically about Vrbnik but since we went on a day trip on the bus from Krk to Vrbnik and so were reliant on this one big problem: despite asking at tourism office, and bus station, and looking at the bus timetable board at the bus stop, the times given for bus departures varied according to the source and the actual departure time was different again! For example departure of bus from Vrbnik to Krk was advertising as 18:45, it actually left just after 18:00 - just as well we arrived at the bus stop early literally a minute before the bus went otherwise we would be stuck for the night. Do they just make up the bus departure times or what!? Otherwise a positive experience although I would recommend researching bus times thoroughly...

We went to Vrbnik for a trip from Malinska.I read that I must try and buy their wine Žlahtina and I did so.After trying I was sure that I want to take one bottle to home with me.We parked our car at the end of very tiny road between the houses, just before the road went down to the beach. We payed 4 kunas for an hour.In that time we walked a little bit around, made some nice photos, saw the parc, had a coffee, bought a wine...AND being told where nice sandy beach is! The name is Sv.Marak,I think...

Try the local wine - good stuff! RIght at the top end of the old town. Fabulous view! Can purchase the local wine there as well.
