Of all the courses we have played in Belek the Montgomerie is one of the most challenging and worthy of it's championship status. The layout maintains your interest with a variation of holes incorporating tree lined fairways and water features. There is a choice of 4 tees providing a challenge for golfers of all standards. When we booked our package provided details of our handicaps (8 & 15) which is normally used to ensure that we are paired with golfers of a similar standard. This is obviously of no concern to the Montgomorie management and we were paired with a couple who had only been golfing for a week and had no handicap. Without any disrespect to our partners I do not know of any other championship course in the world where you are permitted to play without an official handicap and it would appear that management are simply trying to maximise income without any consideration for the golfers. Following our round we expressed our concerns to both Durmus at the golf centre and Guest Relations pat the Maxx Royal. To their credit, the matter was settled promptly to our total satisfaction but it is a situation which management should have not allowed to happen in the first instance.

In my opinion not as good as the PGA Sultan but good nonetheless. My biggest complaint is the very slow play on the Montgomery. If people find the course too difficult they or the Marshall should move them to forward tees.

Played here in Feb2015, 10 players ranging from 8 handicap to 27, bit dissapointed as mens tees were nearly where the ladies tees were, great course but surprised how many un repaired pitch marks there was, played Carya and Lykia Links same week and the were in a lot lot better condition, but saying that will definatly play it again

As a none golfer married to someone who used to play but who still loves to follow the sport this club house suits us both.During our recent holiday in January at the fabulous Maxx Royal we spent quite some time up there as it was the venue for two of the A la carte Restaurants whilst they are extending and renovating them at the hotel. We really enjoy going up there as it feels like your going out for the evening and we dined at both the Chinese and the Turkish Restaurants in their temporary location available on alternate evenings and the Steak House which was moved upstairs. I celebrated my birthday with a wonderful meal at the Steak Restaurant and felt really spoilt. We enjoyed all three evenings and although the ever popular steak house was full there were only a few diners at the other two Restaurants.Service was good as was the food but maybe the cover charge or even the bad weather stopped people booking at this time of year.We also used it during the day for lunch and this was lovely especially when we had a spell of rain and storms. It was a novelty going up in the heavy rain and blustery condiions with the flaps of the shuttle letting in rain but then being greeted by a roaring fire in the lounge area of this lovely golf clubYou had to feel for the golfers who had to battle these conditions but many did, but on really bad days they have use of the driving range. The golfers do have use of the club house afterwards and can dine from an inclusive set menu if staying at the Maxx Royal and also I think at the Voyage and there is a great shuttle service provided to both.Lunch there is excellent and service is attentive and we would sit near the window so my husband could see the golf and the golfers coming in.You have a feeling of being where all the famous golfers come when the Turkish Open is on....

We returned this year, a group of 25, men & ladies, Pros to 26 handicaps. This course again didn't fail to impress providing a good test for all standards. This course offers a selection of tees varying the length from just over 6000 to nearer 7000 off the tournament tees, though like many of the courses in Turkey at this time of the year, are trying to get too many people round the course, and therefore persist on pushing the tee markers too far forward with the yellow tees on the ladies tees. This delighted the higher handicaps, but left our lower single handicap players and pros disappointed. The course again provided the "All inclusive concept" which meant for a very welcome complimentary drink and snack from the refreshment cart, and a nice touch with the included drinks and food in the clubhouse after. My only comment, was that the waiter staff in the clubhouse were not of the friendly and pleased to help and serve as experienced in the hotels, shame, as most of the other staff, reception, pro-shop staff were very welcoming. All in all though, well worth a play, not the hardest course, but well presented and fair. Great practice facilities.

All the courses in Belek are fantastic but the Montgomerie also has a great clubhouse with good food and drinks. If you have palyed the course the food and drinks are all inclusive!!There is also a great shop inside.

We were lucky enough to play this course one week before the Turkish Open, wow, what an amazing experience. A fabulous course and we felt very privileged to be able to play it only 1 week prior to Tiger!

It is one of the best courses I have played on. Although there was a lot of rain the fairways and greens was in immaculate condition. Fees are also very reasonable.

TravelFras

One of the best courses in Belek located within a minutes from each hotel. Great service and quality.

We stayed for a second visit at the wonderful Maxx Royal hotel this October.Last year we dined at the Steak House within the Club house in the evening so we never really saw the course. We could however see part of it from the room..This year we went again for 2 weeks in October and went up to the Club House during the day. The first time was a courtesy lunch offered for 2 days during a large conference and we went on the second day but had we known how nice it was going to be we would have gone both days.We had experienced the worst storms ever and the thunder storm and heavy rain was relentless and flooded many areas of the hotel and grounds. On the day we went it was dry but overcast. We got lucky and we were taken from the hotel to the club house in a car not a buggy as some eager beaver jumped in our buggy, thank you !! The road up to the entrance to the club house was flooded and we could see the impact the constant rain had had on the course on route. The 2nd Turkish open was being held there soon and it must have been an headache for the organisers of the event. When we got there we could have sat outdoors but it was still rather wet and we opted for a window seat in the lovely Restaurant. There was a menu similar to the lunch time venues at the Maxx Royal hotel. Service was excellent and we really felt so pleased we had this chance to experience this Restaurant during the day. There were a few golfers on the course and during the course of the meal the sun came out and we had a lovely view. We tweaked the menu offered as we knew this was possible at the hotels food venues and we both had penne arrabiata as a starter but a smaller portion then we both opted for the burger which was not your average burger and really delicious and cooked to perfection, I had a beautiful tiramisu and my husband a cheesecake. We had lovely Chardonnay with the meal and then a drink instead of coffee We were so full we did skip our evening meal opting for a late night snack at Bistro 21.We also went in the evening with some friends as I had booked this for us before they arrived as it is hard to get a table as it is very popular. Even better we had a voucher printed off Tripadvisor allowing one free A la Carte Restaurant per stay and this was the favourite of ourselves and our friends who were also repeat guests and had the voucher. We had a wonderful evening being whisked by golf cart up there and thankfully the area was now dry It feels like your going out somewhere special for the evening which of course you are. We started off with an aperitif and the waiter remembered our friends from last year. You must have two people ordering the Chateaubriand and both couples opted for this .We ordered various starters and I had a children's pasta main for my starter. Wine was free flowing and service attentive. All the starters were perfect and then came the steak, it was heavenly and the side dishes with it were lovely. During the courses I had noticed our lovely friend from a former favourite hotel of ours the Barut Lara. Orhan was serving on the other side of the Restaurant. My husband said he has seen you and over he came. We know him quite well having been there several times and he was just the same as ever always smiling and happy. He was so pleased to be working at the Maxx Royal and said it is better to work there. He had just married last time we saw him in 2012 and we asked after his wife.To full for a dessert really I opted for an ice cream and two of our party had the apple tart which looked yummy and was they both said. Various coffee's were offered. After our wonderful meal we were then whisked back to the hotel It was a lovely dining experience made all the more enjoyable with the good company we had..We had a further visit during the day but this time the weather was glorious and we dined outside and it was lovely seeing the course dry and in a better condition. My husband said a guy stood to one side was someone to do with golf but his name escapes me but he was an organiser and he was obviously inspecting the course etc.We had a fabulous lunch but this time from a different menu with prices and we both had some lovely food and again service was faultless. The steak with pepper sauce was delicious as was my husbands with a mushroom based sauce. We sat for sometime afterwards having a drink and soaking up the lovely view as even I as a non golfer could appreciate this lovely course and my husband who used to be a keen golfer and still follows golf enjoyed being there. We heard a voice and turned round to see Orhan who had noticed us and he came over to say hello again as he was just about to start his shift. We were saying that very soon all the famous golfers would be arriving and how nice would that be to be there for the open. Last year we did rub shoulders with Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter and my husband had a photo with them both.We left before the event though. Having seen the fabulous firework display this year on Facebook we felt what a wonderful time to be there. It got me thinking that we really must visit during the open at some point......We were then taken back to the hotel and your greeted first by the bell boys and then with Champagne and strawberries perfect !

i did play this course 1 week before the european tour visited antalya - i couldn't have got a better time.major issue was the time of the round 5 3/4 hrs - the group in front couldn't make it past the ladies tee's and didn't look like they had handicaps. i was paired with 3 others all off 20 (I'm off 3) and the stater let them play from the medal tees and they couldn't make the carry off some tees, they wanted to play form the medals though! the group and slow play could have been managed a lot better. It was a fantastic course to play

Referee1963

Please enjoy it, it hosts the penultimate event before the final European Tour event, and it is a quality course, but watch for the free food & drink offer...the barman stung us last trip...

We played this course for the fifth time in 18 months in November 2014 with another two couples and our previous experiences allowed us to proclaim to the other couples who hadnt played it as the best course in Belek. We played just over a week before the Turkish Open due to be played and were horrified at difficulty of the `rough' which was cleary left to grow in advance of the tournament. If you looked at my prevous glowing reviews of my Golfing experiences in Belek you will not that this was always my favourire course but taking almost 5 1/2 hours for a round with unplayable rough was not only embarrassing but way short of the Sultan and Caria in terms of condition of the course. Really disappointing this time I'm afraid!
