Amazing bronze age artefacts. Superb descriptions and videos to give the development of the science of underwater archeology.
You must visit this please when you are in Bodrum, amazingly beautiful and interesting place to see.open in the morning from 8 am until 6:30 pm, there will be entrance fee of 25 TL but worth it, audio guide also will be available with extra charge. Wonderful view from the top of the bodrum city and ocean front.
Nice location not too busy good value.Plenty of food & free drinks & staff greatNice clear water on the doorstep.Local nice pretty bay nice village near by & close to Bodrum.good chill holiday.
Nice architecture and historic building ,interesting to see the artifacts recovered from the ocean floor .wonderful vue of the ocean front .
This renovated museum was only finished in January this year. Clearly labelled, with a lot of information in English. Various rooms and displays around the upper castle levels. The castle is set on a promontory in the middle of the bay with outstanding views all round, shady gardens with seats and is worth entry for its site and the views.BUT it is all up and down and not for those with mobility problems. It would also be very testing in mid summer heat.
we were not impressed as the rep at our hotel told us when to go down but when we did most of the museum was closed but we still have to pay full price.
We travelled over to Bodrum for the day from Kos and wanted to visit the castle. It is closed between 12-1pm which was a bit of a nuisance since we were only in Bodrum for a few hours. It cost 25 Turkish Lira each too get in. We had to pay for our 14 year old daughter by our 10 year old son went in free. The underwater exhibits were incredible and the castle very large. Beware of huge drops that have very little to stop you falling over the edge. A nightmare with young children I would imagine. A good place to visit but expensive
Located inside the Bodrum castle (St Peter's Castle), very interesting things to see from the 4th BC and definitely worth a visit!
The museum is within the grounds of Bodrum Castle, at Bodrum Marina. Definitely worth a visit, but do not expect any underwater experience. Many of the artifacts on display were supposedly brought out from the sea (that is as far as the underwater goes). Amazing views, lots to see and tons of stairs. Not recommended for anyone with mobility challenges. All in all, a pleasant trip and a day well spent. The entry fee is 25TL.
Loads to see and worth getting the translator so you get commentary on the castle my daughter 10 loved using it and worth taking your castle
we visited after 3 years. it was well worth it. it costs 25 lira to get in but there is so much to see. I would definitely recommend anybody to go if they have a love of history.
Housed in the Castle of St Peter it is well worth a visit. Take the audio tour it provides a wealth of information about the huge number of artefacts on display.
Will keep you busy for hours and plenty of interesting exhibits. Definitely the one place you need to see if you're in bodrum.
This museum is located in and around the amazing Castle of St. Peter. The exhibits are placed in small rooms connected by stairways, gardens and passages. There is even a dungeon! The shipwreck collections are astounding. If you like history, plan to spend 3 or 4 hours walking around. Exhibits close at noon for lunch but you can still explore the grounds; they reopen at one.
This Museum of Underwater Archaeology is located right next to Castle of St. Peter. They have displayed this museum fantastic and they have a big collection. I recommend to go to the museum while you already have visited the castle and it may take the whole day.
