It is a small museum which has an extra exposition about World War I. Children below 7 are free of charge. For the museum and the extra exposition we paid 21,60 euro. It is nice to see all those things from the past. The World War I exposition ofcourse has as main objective Kaiser Franz Joseph. The museum about Bad Ischl is nice too but I personally would have set up the museum different. It still was interesting though. My children of 4 and 6 were quickly bored, but I expected that so for me that was no problem.

I felt there was no flow to the different rooms and essentially quite boring. I think it was €11 per person so not cheap.

The museum is located in the Hotel Austria building, and is three floors. They have everything about life in Bad Ischl; it's interesting how much they stress how long tourists have been coming to this area and then there's nothing in English. But not bad, nevertheless. About 45 minutes is enough to see it all.

This is a well set up and informative little museum set out over 3 floors. It covers much of the town's history, salt mining etc and has quite a lot on the Kaiservilla and Emperor Franz Josef as well. A fair bit of info in English, although quite a bit is only in German. However we still found it a fascinating place to visit. It is so well thought out that you can manage without being able to read German. Little footprints on the floor indicate the direction your visit should take and it has been well thought out with a good flow to it. The exhibits are very good. It is located right on the Esplanade in the building that was previously the Hotel Austria. A very worthwhile visit while in Bad Ischl.

Das Museum bietet neben seinen Dauerausstellungen auch ausgezeichnete Sonderausstellungen, Jährlich wechseln die Themenbereiche ab.

Immer in der Adventzeit bis zum 2. Februar ist die berühmte Kalsskrippe im Museum zu besichtigen. Ein Meisterwerk heimischer Krippenbaukunst mit vielen Darstellungen des ländlichen Alltags im Salzkammergut, teils mit beweglichen Figuren. Alle Figuren sind aus Holz geschnitzt. Daneben ist immer ein Krippenausstellung zu bewundern, heuer Krippen aus aller Welt! Einfach sehenswert, unbedingt besuchen!

Ein sehr nettes Museum im historischen Gebäude auf drei Stockwerken. Es wird eingehend eingegangen auf die berühmten Besucher, Lehar, Niese, Girardi usw. mit interessanten Ausstellungsstücken und natürlich das Kaiserhaus. Man erfährt viel über das Theaterleben dieser Zeit. Sehr liebevoll zusammengestellt.

Man braucht viel Zeit und Interesse um wirklich alles anzusehen. Es sind relativ viele Räume und viele Sachen ausgestellt und es wird viel von der Geschichte gezeigt.

se siete interessati alla storia questo è il museo che fa x voi….sviluppato in 3 piani parte dalle origini di ischl fino alla sua esplosione quando checco beppe vi fece la sua residenza estiva…al 1. piano le origini al 2. piano una visione d'insieme con guida fotografica e audioguida e al 3. fotografie giovanili di checco beppe e sissi in giovane età con loro oggetti personali…per passarci il tempo…e non è cara l'entrata…così si può contribuire alla sua manutenzione...

Das Museum der Stadt Bad Ischl ist wirklich empfehlenswert! Man erhält einen schönen Einblick in die Geschichte dieser Stadt und ihrer Umgebung. Von alten Fotos, nachgebauten Bauernhäusern, Trachten und natürlich einiges über den Kaiser, gibt es viel zu sehen. Das Museum ist kurzweilig und bietet auch immer wieder schöne Sonderausstellungen.
