It's a beautiful relatively small beach which gives the impression you are in a large swimming pool.
Messinia has so many wonderful things to offer.Take a photo or swim at Voidokilia. The white sandy beach shaped like Greek letter omega and separating the Gialowa lagoon from the sea is product of nature. It also untouched by human intervention as it is located in protected area.
The beach is absolutely more beautiful in pictures taken above..After a hard wind there was lots of sea grass in the beach, smelling not very nice..Didnt see toilets and there was nothing to buy drinks or snacks..The beach is great for small kids...u can walk hundreds of meters in water befoe it gets too deep.
Clean and quiet, lots of rooms, not much shade, need to bring your own. The road to get there is shocking! The council needs to fix asap, plus the signage!
The best beach in Mediterranea Sea. Very nice waters in all the region. Tremendous area for walking and bicycling.
the beach, the water and the view.in the of season it is quiet and you can combine it with walking around the bird sanctuary or hiking up the castle with spectacular views
one morning we decided to visit this fabulous beautiful beach starting from a place called kyparisia (1 hour away). White sand and crystal waters. I loved it. I hope it will remain ''non organised'' forever. a beach o greece that everyone must see
The crescent of yellow sand bookended by 2 craggy peaks, a castle, warm blue water and low dunes hiding more lagoons; what more do you need for a relaxing time at the beach? Simply drop dead gorgeous!
Considered one of the best beaches in Greece and definitely good to look at and sandy (reddish brown) if you are sick of stony beaches. Getting there is a bit of a challenge as signage is typically poor (for Greece). Depends a bit on the weather as some of the breezes blow straight in to the bay and whip it up a bit. Good for small children as the water is shallow but does mean the water can be a bit tepid. We were rather disappointed in the amount of rubbish about, particularly in the car park area. Bring everything you need as there are no facilities but there are a few tavernas on the road in (coming from the north).
Pros: Very beautiful. Crystal clear water in a horseshoe cove so it's very placid. Great for all kids or if you like water games. Unspoiled. Water a bit warmer than ocean. Shallow for many meters out so it's easy to watch over your kids.Cons:No surf. No amenities. No food concessions. No parking area. You need to park on the side of a dirt/sand "road". You must bring everything you need. No shade available. Overall:Go at least for a couple of hours. Bring a picnic. Swim in the crystal water.
We went to Voidokilia one afternoon at the end of September, so compared with other visitors, there were no crowds. It was quiet piece of paradise. The sight of Voidokilia is almost breathtaking, as you happen upon it after walking up from the parking lot. The water is pristine, although you have to go far out for it to get deep. I recommend bringing a floation device to this beach and simply lounging on the water. The beach is also very clean. Be warned, however, there is no cantine or restaurant within 2-5 km from the actual beach, so either bring food/water/coffee with you, or stop at one of the cantines on the road to the beach.
Voidokilia is over rated. Yes, it is a unique beautiful scenery, but that's all. Crowded and noisy, with a lot of mosquitos on your way to the beach. And the sea is not deep enough to enjoy swimming. Just enjoy the view and go away as soon as possible...
Fine sand, crystal & turquoise waters, unspoilt surroundings, not-organised (=ready low key), gorgeous bay, welcoming waters. Perfection.
Great experience if you can avoid the crowds. If not head around the corner to the small mud bath beach
The beach is wonderful, the sand is nice and the water clean but crowded. Easy access - spectaculars sand dunes
