ecclesiastical museum of milos

Very interesting museum with lots of old/historical relics of the Greek Orthodox church. Old icons etc. are included in the collection. Don´t expect anything huge. It´s small, located inside an old church, yet it gives interesting information on the history and tradition of the religious side of the island.

Visiting the little Church of the Holy Trinity goes along with visiting the little museum inside. The pieces shown are ok but the atmosphere is great. There is a loud speaker installes which plays very calm the chanting of monks. Very nice experience.

We found this little museum into the old Church of the "holy trinity", near Adamas port. It contains old icons, votive objects and some painting that enlight about the Orthodox work of art in the island. The entrance is free, but an offer is welcomed, which is important, to preserve this little but so interesting museum.

Splendida raccolta di oggetti, icone sacre, tele, testi,alcuni anche del 1600.Se andate a Milos non può mancare una visita!Consigliatissimo!

A non più di 50 metri dal mare, nella zona del porto e in una delle viuzze affollate di negozi per turisti, sorge una piccola chiesa che merita senz'altro la visita del turista che non si accontenta di affollare taverne e frequentare spiagge. Il racchiuso spiazzo esterno presenta un grande disegno in pietre nere, grigie e bianche, secondo lo stile abbastanza frequente in questa parte di Cicladi. L'interno è una raccolta di icone lignee antiche, di iconostasi dipinte e impreziosite da una vena di intaglio davvero artistica, di oggetti di culto in materiale prezioso.Insomma un vero museo (ingresso gratuito): purtroppo tutte le pubblicazioni in vendita in loco sono soltanto in greco, ma vale comunque la pena di acquistarle per il corredo iconografico.

Op een mooie lokatie in Adamas zit in een kerk het museum, vriendelijke ontvangst indien gewenst word er uitleg gegeven,info bij de belangrijke stukken. Zeker de moeite waard.

Ad Adamas, tra le vie dello shopping, è nascosto questo angolo di misticimo di rara bellezza per i contenuti artistici. Assolutamente da visitare.
