mykonos vioma organic farm & vineyard

Booked the lunch with wine tasting. Delicious food, lovely wide and great views of the countryside.It's not the easiest place to find, about 20 mins from Mykonos Town, so make sure you get your directions sorted before you head off.

My son and I visited this vineyard with a party from a cruise ship, so our time there was not very long, yet for us it was the highlight of the day excursion in Mykonos.We were told that the owner gave up a career in high finance in order to farm and cultivate his vines in a completely organic and original way. Classical music is even played to the plants! The sweetness of the melodies must have somehow infiltrated the grapes, as the three wines that were served to us were lovely.We all sat at painted wooden tables in a shady arbour, where platters of tomato and cucumber, olives, cheeses and sliced preserved meat were laid out. A big basket of home made bread was passed round, and we were served a white wine. As the meal progressed a fruity red followed, and finally a fabulous dessert wine.The proprietor himself was there to greet us, a shy and unassuming man whose dream we were to share for just an hour or two that sunny afternoon. Not only was the delicious food simplicity itself, but the peaceful surroundings, rustic art work and unpretentious atmosphere were a sheer delight. This memory will stay with us for a long time.

Great place and activity which you can combine with a visit to Fokos beach,It is not very simple to find the farm and I would suggest to add some singes on the way to it..Definitely "must to visit" if you did not come to Mykonos for clubbing only:)
