lovely pretty resort but very very busy on the beach and in the restaurants. We found the food here quite expensive compared to other places we ate. There are a couple of different beaches and a few shops. The water is lovely and clear. We didn't spend long on the ebach as we had gone to see the Monastery
beautiful scenary .Sunset at the beach is a must do,along with a glass of wine... Im island hopping back and forth from Lefkas island and will defo return next summer
What I love the most regarding this area is the rocky landscape and the color of the water. It's very fascinating and also relaxing in the same time. Here you will find many tourists because it's considered to be the most beautiful area of the island. You can rent a boat an visit the surroundings which are spectacular, especially the caves. You can do all sort of water sports including diving. The area is a fishing point which means you can eat fresh fish at nearby restaurants and some of them have such a nice view. Here is located Akrotiri Beach Hotel, is said to be the hotel with the the most beautiful view. This nearby beach Agia Triada is not one of the best because it's kinda crowded, there are lots of small stones or shells insted of sand only (I don't remember very good) and for me it seemed to be not very clean. The water was great although. You can also visit the Alipa Port, Agios Spiridon beach, Agios Pedros beach, great places. Just near Agios Spiridon beach there is a huge parking so you won't have to worry about that. And near, there is a monastery called Moni Theotokou which I recommend you to visit. The monastery is on a hill so you can go there either by feet either by car. If you decide to walk it takes you 10 minutes probably and it's better to do this because you will have the opportunity to make some wonderful pictures and to stop at local merchants which sells all sort of cool things. If you decide to go by car, it will take you 2 minutes and you will miss them. You decide !The monastery have some unique paintings about the doomsday and a cool garden and if I am not wrong a museum also. We walked to the monastery and I can say that I made my best picture of all the ones I did in Corfu. A picture of Agios Spiridon beach, just wonderful. The picture was awsome but to be honest I did not liked very much this beach because it was not too intimate location since all the toursits were just behind us all the time.Anyways, you must visit this location with all costs. It is trully wonderful.
with its crystal clear waters and friendly locals this has got to be one of thee most beautiful places to visit and relax in
Me and my friend went here during our two week stay to Sidari, we weren't really sure what to expect when we went here. when we arrived here we tried to find a space on the beach but it was packed and this left us with no choice but to go and find a restaurant over looking the beach (which was very nice). After this we then ventured on to the beach and finally found a space. The place is beautiful but there just wasn't enough space for us all and there was little else to do whilst waiting for the coach to pick us up to go back to Sidari.
Only day tripped to Paleo but lovely little area. Take note though - this town is surrounded by mountains so get verrrrry hot in the summer.
There are five bays around Paleo each with their own beaches . The main beach by the harbor is sandy and safe for children but can get rather crowded in high season . The colours of the waters around the bays have to be seen to be believed , stunning shades of blues and greens .The sea temperature on this side of the island is much cooler than the East and is often quite windy . The best view of Paleo is from Lakones where all the bays can be seen from the terrace of the tavernas . well worth the walk or the hairpin drive up the hill.
The beach as far as beaches go ok but from where i was staying not a short distance to get to. Believe they had a monks church to visit but it was up loads if steps so didnt visit. Apparently people said had lovely views.so i guess if u are upto a climb then try it. Food court expensive on beach but a couple of shops for drinks. Bus stops confusing to find on the front. I personally didnt like the area of Paleokastritsa as nothing but hills and very few places surround the town. Corfu town on the otherhand is my place to holiday
This is a "must" for Corfu visitors. The contast between the blue and the green is amazing. The waters are almost always cold, but crystal clear! The view, rocky and rough, is unique.
Whatever you do when visiting Corfu make sure you visit Paleokastritsa. The Beaches are beautiful, there are small bays, one with a harbour, one rocky with a diving school, although be prepared the water is cooler over this side of the island.
